Leaving office in drivers seat

Old temp supervisor had stated we as rurals had to leave behind the wheel buckled stop at first box and rearrange, new sup said he'd never heard of that is this bs or no?

603 says behind the wheel to and from the route.

It also says the route begins and ends where you load and unload.
My interpretation of that meant, driving to and from the PO, and that makes perfect sense.... of course you should wear the seatbelt while commuting to and from home...

But, when I got hit with the ridiculous 1st box last box deal.... I called the ADR, and they backed this nonsense.... good ole worthless NRLCA.... ?

I was told about it a long time ago, I thought if your route was "x" distance you did not have to. Not sure what that distance is.

I did it to get count credit. Especially now, since there isn't available room to adjust mail.

And at the end is a good time to separate throwback/3m mail, organize parcel markers/straps. Get your tubs in order. Snd then you're prepped to be in and out of the office before someone makes you carry part of a route or run packages.

That's great now with the current mail count system.

RRECS has pm office time as actual time.

Like when they try the 5 minutes pm office time with city carriers. A good office steward is all over that crap.

Not crazy. Safe.
Next best thing is RHD and wearing seat belt all the time.
That jumping over thing you call crazy saved my life, IMO, I was rear ended at stop light, lady was doing 55 . Can only imagine where I’d been without that belt

My route starts .6 miles from office and my first box in a curve I think your being a tad biased. Your situation makes sense, glad your okay

As far as rhd goes love to have one, but then again that's a years salary right there your speaking of. People vary so vastly I love it

Seatbelts are great..... but, if we're driving 75 or a 100 miles without them on the route.... is wearing them the 1st and last half mile of the route really doing much good.... or is it just putting us at more risk by sitting longer out on the highway making these changes????

In the Capital district you have to wear it all day long or they'll fire you if they catch you. I found the belt would tighten on you until it was painful. It became chronic until... I pulled the belt out until it was perfectly comfortable and put a small pair of vise grips on it. It was great after that for the last 3 years of my career.

Was that LLV or POV routes, or both???
