Now there's a good question. We have several new developments with NDCBUs that have parcel lockers incorporated. The problem is, none of those parcel lockers has an arrow key lock. Don't ask me, I don't know who's responsible for the lack of locks, but it sure is inconvenient.
The arrow locks have to be installed by a maintenance person working for the PO. Request them on a Form 13 and get it round dated. Turn in to manglement or Post Master.

Sorry for the confusion.

The arrow key is required to release the parcel locker keys from the lock, unless it is the old style of standard single cut key as the release. But no master key that directly opens any and all parcel lockers directly exists that I know of. That is what I thought of when a master was mentioned.

We have some older standalone parcel lockers that once locked can only be opened with their respective key because the compartment door isn’t built in to a hinged front. If the key gets lost, a drill is required.
The only master key for all parcel lockers is the field-expediant type that some dumbass used on one of my parcel lockers Wednesday night. After failing to break open the CBU collection box arrow lock (had to be replaced), the dumbass decided on a large 1P parcel locker instead. The top corner was bent over 3" with a 1" gap from top to bottom except for the stretched out locking components that were somehow still hanging tough. All that effort only to find out that their reward would be a parcel locker key at the bottom of the locker lol.

Here the parcel locker master key IS the arrow key. And I too pull the parcel locker keys and place them back into the empty parcel locker so the keys are not subject to vandalism. We call this "policing the keys". It really helps to have the key all ready to put into the customer's box without having to retrieve the key from the lock, especially on days with bad weather or wind.

great idea

I would love it if my arrow key could be used to free the used parcel locker key.
My master key for this purpose is small, brass colored with a round top.

you can still do the same thing. I used to have the same set-up-----use the "master key" to turn the parcel locker key to lock position and take both keys out. You can then put the keys for the parcel lockers somewhere safe(inside locker itself or somewhere else to your liking)

Here is rule for CBUS... Centralized Installations

No bad weather if you hold their feet to the fire. Neighborhood Delivery Center is a freestanding, sheltered or enclosed installation containing a large number of individually locked, wall-mounted mailboxes.

JS.... Those with CBUS that are serviced with a dismount around here in Snow globe world have a roof covering.

Lucky you! No such rule in my area and yes I too live in snow country, as per my screen name, with plenty of wind.
