Metris lasted less than 2 weeks

Metris wouldn't go shift out of Park today. Less than 1000 miles on it.

First question from PM was the usual dumb questions like, "did you push the button all the way" and crap like that.

Next question is asking me if I can use my old POV. I said no.

The other route in the office is an AUX route who received the Metris the same day as me. So they asked him if he would use his old POV and he said no.

After over an hour of "O" time they call in a sub to run the AUX with her POV(which I thought wasn't allowed) and they have me move all my stuff from the broken Metris to the AUX Metris and send the AUX carrier home.

What a clustertruck.

13 years of me using a POV and I never missed a day because of vehicle issues. I either fixed my POV or borrowed one. The PO couldn't make it 2 weeks.....

Good of you and aux carrier to stick to your guns regarding POV. Does Aux carrier get paid anyway?

Good for you - I'm sure manglement would be happy to try to pressure us into keeping a backup POV.

I think it goes back to not reinforcing bad behavior. Like providing a safety net for a teen kid that's always screwing up. Making USPS live with the consequences of their actions.

If I found myself in that situation, I'd probably roll out the old POV, too. But, I work in a tiny office and just wouldn't want to drag some coworker into it.

That was a major part of it. I told the AUX carrier that if we say OK now they will always rely on us having a vehicle.
On a side note, the POV of mine they wanted me to use......wouldn't start yesterday. The battery is probably bad but the 5-6 hours a day running must have kept it dragging along. One week of it not being turned on and it was dead.
 
Two weeks in with the Metris. Looked at my first check and the EMA was correctly removed. However, eOPF shows no route changes. Looks like they simply took off EMA and didn't add on anything else. Typical. Especially considering they were told about the route changes the day we got the Metris. Told again when we started driving them. And told again with 2 days left in the pay period.

Absolutely ridiculous.
 
I've looked over the Mercedes at my amazon hub office and I think they are sweet. The only thing really wrong with them is the stock tires are very unsafe. Total junk. I'm not a fan of the wheels either but if they had real tires on them, they would get by. Junk tires, junk tires, junk tires.
 
Do you get paid EMA if you have to use POV as backup to Postal supplied van? Is it your responsibly to keep and maintain a backup vehicle when a postal owned van is to be supplied daily? What is the protocol when Postal Van is disabled out in a boondocks office? What are we becoming, Hybrid city-rural carriers?
