USPS is in panic mode - we now have a PLAN B - See NRLCA Web Site for details!

Our rca's can't run parcels...they are throwing them...
We have 2 newbies for 33 routes, 5 vacant routes 2 auxiliary routes, not to mention daily call outs. Our office has been using highway contractors (pretty much people off the street) to fill the gaps and run parcels (now that’s starting to fail cause we don’t have enough of those either and yes they are running rural routes)

The very little time our personnel in our offices ever works off the clock is in the interest of teamwork, as it benefits all in the end. Rarely, repeat, rarely.

We log on 4240 whatever we work, whatever the work requires. …..and have no reason to misrepresent what they actually work.

Contradicting statements.

Still no excuse. Off the clock is wrong.

You know I think I've seen you put that on here before. Interesting

I work up to 2240 every year, take my 25-30 days off a year, mostly Tues. thru Fri., occasionally a Monday. Only 1 Saturday each of last 2 years, they pay the best, one year they bypassed me because I was getting close to 2240, but did not go over, grieved it, got daca 5, for not working, when I willing to work(learned that on here, track my hours also).

Most of the ways I see carriers working off the clock are carriers that are in such a hurry to get done or be the first one done, they don't care, or others say we get paid the same anyway. Then manglement only let's you start at a certain time and they just write that down and start whenever. Others especially newer ones think they have to be under evaluation and lie because they think manglement will get on them if they are not

Now with Sundays rcas just throw the adds then, even a few regulars, and no they won't pay them for it.

Yes I do know 1 that does to avoid 2240 I think. Weird thing is they take plenty of time off it wouldn't be an issue.

There are other ways mentioned on here before.

Most in our office don't know what 2240 or 2080 or recs or po 603.

We usually have enough subs we can take off.

Maybe it doesn't matter anyway. As one of our last adr's put it "worry about yourself", turned out to be good advice.

And yes I know Rca's are getting screwed, did it for 8 years.

And I'm mark oliver, no wait I think that was you. out
So why do you let them remain ignorant?

Question:

They don't state this on the paper, but can other offices basically borrow RCAs for morning parcels run? Are they going to try to force it on us? I can't seem to get any answers and I'm scared their vagueness will allow this to be abused.....

The way I read it is they are trying to sucker Regulars into not getting their entitled OT during the 12/4 to 12/24 Christmas Period, if they go over weekly evaluation. They want to trade you 2 minutes per mile and load time for OT. Come in early and deliver for pennies instead of going over eval for the week and collect agreed upon OT. They stress the term "peak season" and never mention your rights to "Christmas Period" OT. Note the "peak season" is inclusive of the "Christmas Period".

Yeah I see what they are trying to do with regulars. I want to know if the vagueness of this means like an office 20 miles from can borrow me for morning runs? Will they try to force it, which I know the answer too. I will balk at it unless it is an office I don't mind working for.

That’s my exact worry myself. Generally I am on a route 5-6 days a week plus Sunday delivery. Add in having to go to another office to help them with parcels before the route quick way to get me to quit.

With this language I'd say my office is safe. There is no way they will park our stuff in Binghamton, to have it delivered by us. Well, we are dealing with the USPS so who knows.

As I have written before on here, they don't care. I have lost friendships over this. The district president works in our office doesn't care, the last adr told me to worry about myself. No one goes to meetings, no one listens.
Horrible subject for me, helped ruin my postal career, if that's really a thing anyway.
So I'll just worry about myself, help out along the way ad I can.

Anything over evaluation in a week during the Christmas overtime period is payed at overtime rate, if you are not over evaluation, then you are payed your evaluation, no matter how many trips.

It is this way in all New York State.

This is why no one, especially RCA's should be in the Un Union.

The bottom line is 100% true for ANY RCA. The union just throws RCAs under the bus. I tell them all not to join when they start, and this is coming from a pro-union person. That's what is bad. I've never seen a more incompetent union than ours.

I've never had 2080 problems.... but, I always use my AL, Monday K Day, off after every holiday, etc... why would I be over.. it's a rare bird, when I work more than 35 hours in a week.. js... you gotta look at the rules, and learn how to play the game.... 🤷‍♂️ 😊
When I wrote that I was thinking of the 'working off the clock' folks who are desperate to do anything to have a good day because of record low sub shortages.

And believe me re: what I bolded. I'm at the point I know more than most Regulars because of this site, and everything published on the NRLCA I have access to. I love learning hidden knowledge. I even print things off for Regulars when I know they are getting screwed. Kind of like an undercover steward is what I'm becoming.

I've haunted this site for a number of years... really I feel I've learned alot here.... knowledge is power, so the more you know, the better.... if you play smartly, you're much more likely to be successful, at least that's my theory..... 🤷‍♂️ 🧐

Legit question,

When there is no help available to help with a route, (I.E. if my regulars takes a vacation, and I get slam with packages), why would this people not allow us to start earlier doing all the mail instead of take packages then do mail later.

I mean not so much OTC, but you literally write down, in my case, my official start time is 8, and I write down that I started at 7, 715, or 730. Would that not be an option? Guess not.

try talking to your PM about starting early. cite safety. it doesn't hurt to ask.

i've started coming in 15 minutes early. even that small amount of time makes a difference at the end of the day. (not quite dusk when i'm done, as opposed to dark)

My office does that. I was just saying in general if they don't want us out late especially on days we don't have any help. I know some offices won't.

Because that might actually work !!
