Well if you are referring to July 2019 cola and you retired in April then it doesn’t apply to you. If you are referring to the colas that happen when we didn’t have a contract in 2018 then I believe a check will be sent to the post office you last worked at which may or may be a separate check from the pay raises that were passed

has anybody totaled this new cola with the retroactive cola's and pay raise for a 40 rte?

The COLAs for Table 1 all steps and Table 2 step 15 will be:
July 2018= 229 and July 2019= 624.
The rest of Table 2 COLAs are proportional for each step.
July 2018= .0039 x base salary of step = COLA
July 2019= .0106 x base salary of step = COLA
The general wage increase is 1.3% of whatever step you're at using the salaries off of the March 2018 tables.

And how would one find out if and when that check is available for pick up.....it could get lost in the piles......
We can’t rely on management.....why isn’t this being mailed to our homes?

If memory serves me correctly, they will announce what check it will be on.
Hint: it takes awhile.
It's BS the USPS doesn't mail the check to the last address on file. After retirement, I will have no desire to see my PM ever again. They have the ability to mail your final W-2 but cannot send this check?

They’re hoping a lot of them will go unclaimed. Since our union keeps its members soooooooo informed. I bet barely anyone knows
Punkie, we don't know when the checks will be issued. My best guess is it will take a couple of months. Everyone that got a check for working on a rural route for the past year or so will be eligible. From memory, it seems every carrier's back pay has to be individually figured and the checks/adjustments will occur at the same time (so as to not favor some carriers over other carriers.)
My suggestion is to watch this site and I am sure there will be comments/questions when money appears on our paychecks. At that point, I assume your check will be at your old post office. If it was me, I'd call and ask that the check be sent to you from your old office, but wait until you read about it here.
But again, I find it hard to believe we will see the back pay before mid-October.

The retroactive portion of the November 24, 2018 GWI will be calculated by the USPS after PP 19-2019 and will be paid as soon as administratively practicable after PP 19-2019
COLA adjustment will be effective August 31, 2019, (PP 19-2019) and will be reflected in the paycheck dated September 20, 2019.

I’m seeing other full,time carriers getting their COLA backpay.
I am retired as of April 2019, am I due COLA from the USPS Nov. 24 2018 to April?
I’m also seeing it would be paid out on 9/20/19 pp 19.
Confused, please advise. Thanks mucho!
I wanna make sure I get every penny due to me from the USPS. Leave no $$ behind.

-- Leave a SASE with the PM / supervisor / whom ever, that way you won't have to.
-- Of course if you cast doubt upon the any of the above's family lineage as you were leaving, that last check may be awhile in reaching you.
-- If your SASE and last check are not received in a "reasonable" amount of time, call the office to confirm the check had been mailed.
-- Should you get some snarky reply such as "Yeah, I mailed it several weeks ago, why? Politely tell whomever is on the other end of the phone that you will be contacting the Postal Inspector about a valuable "lost" piece of mail.
-- Check the post mark should the check appear within days of your call.
-- Leave a SASE with the PM / supervisor / whom ever, that way you won't have to.

-- However - comma - being retired from the USPS, you are now under OPM. To make sure, try to log on to liteblue, etc. If unable, the USPS has literally cut ties with you. As such, Postal Pay Periods no longer apply to you.
-- I think it was back in July there was an article that OPM was dealing with the paperwork for over 3,000 retirees. ( apparently lots of people were seeing the grafitti on the walls and bailed. )
-- My guess is that OPM will have to contract Eagan to verify your connection with the USPS, your time frame of employement regarding the back payment of COLA, and hopefully where to send the check. ( anyone? )
-- Also just a guess, but those in the trenches of OPM may be giving preferrance to those in the process of retiring in order to try to catch up with the work load and to keep their manglement personnel off their backs.
-- Eagan has been known for "glitches" too. RCA's had long waits to get their COLA roll-in after the 2010-2015 contract expired.
