So, what did you use to put your mail in? How did it work out? Clocking your waiting is fine, but good luck seeing it on your paycheck.
not on paycheck would be a grievance.Clocking your waiting is fine, but good luck seeing it on your paycheck.
Where did this come from...I haven't seen it before. Where can I look at the whole thing?
Exactly! Another one of those "wage theft" grievances.not on paycheck would be a grievance.
well said. my office is perfect example right now. actually 3 offices. head office and 2 rmpos. manglement seems to think all three offices(4 carriers) can fit in head office. except head office cant fit all the parcels for two of those routes for 3-4 months a year. so out goes all "unneccessary" equipment. defined by the pm of course. its gonna be some kind of show..im buying popcorn. and keeping a jobs tab open on my computer, because it just may come to that. Those that cannot move the numbers , move furniture. We've all seen it . New manager, OIC, etc. come in and rearrange cases, move the parcel area, move staging areas, get rid of equipment, etc. Anything they can do do FURTHER alter, impede, or otherwise disrupt the flow and rhythm of our day, they will do. As the genuine troopers we are, we improvise, overcome and adapt to ALL of the obstacles and hurdles placed before us. We all know that we WILL succeed no matter how difficult "they" try to make our working conditions.
I've been retired for almost 3 years now but this kind of thing doesn't surprise me. I actually still have nightmares about stuff like this. I recently woke up in a cold sweat because I dreamed I came to work after a vacation and they actually took away my sorting case and told me to figure it out. Almost like a PTSD type of thing which is common for retired carriers. When I was working we did have trays but they were falling apart and I almost ordered new ones for myself online so I could do my job. I didn't because I was so close to retirement. I also bought rubber bands myself when they said they couldn't order them anymore. Do what you have to do in order to do your job. Talk to a union rep and File a grievance or buy something yourself or figure out some other way to do your job. Use the DPS trays if you have to until you can get better stuff. When I delivered out of a dual controlled POV, (before I was issued a LLV) I actually went to a restaurant supply business and purchased bus trays to pull my mail into. They were shorter than the hard plastic trays the USPS was providing and fit better on the car seat. It seems that is the rural way, always figuring out something outside the box to get the job done in the easiest and quickest manner for yourself. Good luck!Just found out that management came around and took all the trays all of us rural carriers pull down into. Now what? How are we supposed to do our job now? We need that equipment to do our job. Tubs too.... they took everyone's tubs away....even the NOVM tubs.
If casing DPS is the only way to get equipment to tray your mail, I'd write down the time necessary to case your DPS as wait time. In this scenario, rural carriers option to case DPS is inherently removed from all carriers. All the carriers should just take the DPS to the street and then you guys will have no trays to pull down into !
Upper management gets flagged when any time earlier than the scheduled start time is entered into timekeeping. They just add it to the list of ways to browbeat local management. District will put the manager on the spot by making some comment like, "What are you going to do about this? This isn't going to be a problem, is it?"This will probably identify me, but, you know, I don't give a crap at this point in my life. We have a new poom also, I was called in fo a Pdi because, horrors, I came in 15 minutes early and wrote the exact time down. Bad carrier, I followed the rules. Why? I'm an older carrier and for the last 2 months my scanner has been telling me about the dangers of heat stroke. So, in the interest of safety, because safety depends on me, I thought I would come in a little early to stay out of the heat. But NO, I'm a bad carrier because I came in early and wrote down my exact reporting time. Idiots at management want it both ways. These fools have never worked a day in their lives, and if they did, they decided it was too tough and went into postal management. Smh
Like most postal manuals, Handbook AS-504, Space Requirements, is a dull read.well said. my office is perfect example right now. actually 3 offices. head office and 2 rmpos. manglement seems to think all three offices(4 carriers) can fit in head office. except head office cant fit all the parcels for two of those routes for 3-4 months a year. so out goes all "unneccessary" equipment. defined by the pm of course. its gonna be some kind of show..im buying popcorn. and keeping a jobs tab open on my computer, because it just may come to that.
yup, totally! The New Person HAS to do all that stuff to SHOW that they're WORKING and IMPROVING. No matter that all the decisions are further impediments to doing our jobs. Irrelevant. Looks great to their boss. I've worked in numerous offices, and ALL stipulate that postal property within our case area is indeed belonging to the post office, but it's there for the carrier on that route that day to use. Custodians cleaning leave everything intact within the boundaries. This is crazy had almost the same problem, someone every day came toy case and stole my two small trays so I figured out it was the clerk who was past another case that had twice the trays I have just to take mine I told her to take her lazy ass to the back and get her own she Said they don't belong to me there postal property acting pm Said we need to supply our own I just shook my head
go to the union website and look at past magazines.Where did this come from...I haven't seen it before. Where can I look at the whole thing?
Not to mention our evaluated system does not compensate for daily equipment hunts?I've worked in numerous offices, and ALL stipulate that postal property within our case area is indeed belonging to the post office, but it's there for the carrier on that route that day to use. Custodians cleaning leave everything intact within the boundaries.
If they're postal property for anyone to use at any time, you shouldn't worry about going the that person with all the trays and taking what you need when you need it. After all, its all postal property.
Yah. HER postal property is for HER to use alone, YOURS is for everyone to use. Screw that. Do what you have to do.
I would say soIs this the new tactic to force everyone to take DPS to the street?
??All the carriers should just take the DPS to the street and then you guys will have no trays to pull down into !
