Before you quit...

Just remember that all signs point to a looming recession! If you quit and take a new job, the old adage goes, "Last hired, first fired." We are lucky in the fact that even though most of us are taking a pay cut right now, even in a deep recession our jobs are not going anywhere, and in a years time a 5k loss now may have more buying power than your higher salary today!

So true but also working all the years I have also learn never believe nothing till the day it happens. Things change like the wind in our job. To me it is nothing but a mind game. Come by next saterdy this can be delayed or totally not happen. This is how you thin out a work force. Let those that go off thier emotions and walk off on there own. If it is higher paid employees it is a win for a company to save money and hire another at a cheaper wage.

Exactly. I'm up a couple hours according to today's info. That makes me a K Route.

However, seeing the massive cuts to other routes and some blatant errors, I won't be surprised if..... at the last second..... the new evaluations get delayed for 60 days or 6 months.

Yes but how does that help the one who’s routes will be dissolved if they stick with this because our evaluation didn’t even come back a regular route

what guarantee is that?
You still have a 40 (?) hour a week guarantee until mid October. That has to be better than unemployment. Not fantastic but not the worst thing either. In the meantime situations or lifestyles can change.
so would you make that lifestyle change and start over as a sub again and possibly no benefits because they dissolved you route in six months and have to find a station to work in after being a regular carrier for 19 years

I mentioned this 40hr guarantee to my pm, we discussed it before. But now we are struggling to find the proof. i know of 2 H-routes that are have dropped to 30 & 31 hrs.

The new evaluation states 30H (previously 40H/42H seasonal) & 31H (previously 42H) even though they are in AUX range.
Will these carriers get paid 40hrs?
And then if things don’t improve by OCTOBER they transition into an AUX?

Where is this in writing?

Article 12.5.B concerns what happens when routes become substandard. Contact your union rep to discuss.

I understand the article regarding consolidation.
What I’m asking for the guarantee of a 40hr pay week until OCTOBER. There was a statement made (by union or USPS sim nor sure which) that said after the implementation of RRECS route that drop will be guaranteed a 40hr pay week until October. If then if at that point the route is still coming in at under 40 (or 37? as the contract states) it will likely be converted to an AUX .

*It not my route at risk (mine is already an AUX). This is regarding route in another office.

I know. I’ve read that on this forum. I don’t believe that to be the case. That is why I recommend speaking with a union rep.

Complete truth. Most rural regulars can't see two feet in front of their face. Biggest victim class I have ever witnessed in my life.

It would be on your last form 50... Mine didn't change I was a 48K I'm still a 48k.. so my 48k salary is $91,834.. and my guarantee salary (40hours a week) is $70,643.. so if for some strange reason my route did drop from a 48k to a 38H.. I would still be guaranteed my 70k salary until Oct. October
