...have been striking for 41 days and just voted down a 35% wage increase over 4 years, their second NO vote. Let's hope there are enough city carriers and rural carriers alike that have the balls to vote down 1.3% GWI's. and COLA's.

I'm a NO vote on any rural contract that looks like the NALC negotiated agreement. Why should we bear the burden of the mis-managed Postal Service by sacrificing a fair wage relative to what other Unions have achieved for their members.

The autoworkers were able to do away with their two tier wage scale and their members achieve the top step after 4 years.

Dockworkers got better than 55% increase in wages.

Teamsters got a big win for the UPS drivers.

Why are WE worth so much less??

The key is USPS workers never strike. Your labor is your only bargaining chip but the unions bowed down to their management bedfellows and gave that away. When negotiating contracts NRLCA is always happy to sacrifice the well being and wallets of the carriers they represent. You can vote No as many times as you want but until the workers stop working nobody will notice.

And that’s where problems lies . But you cannot do anything about it . It is illegal to strike for us . We are government agency . And our union is public employee union . It is not like any private sector union . Any union leader calling for strike can be sent to jail no question asked . And they can fire you on the spot . There will not be any remedy from anybody — labor board or court or anything. And do not think that it never happened. It has happened before with government union where entire craft was fired . There is that .

When you play by the systems rules, they always seem to win every time. I won’t even bother clarifying, because anyone paying attention can read between the lines, but they aren’t honest about our own numbers for matters somewhat less serious, why expect them to be honest about who voted yes and no? Who’s going to even be able to double check?

Boeing voted it down because they messed with their pension. Not because of the pay raise

The average Boeing machinist makes $75k
They rejected 35% over 4 years
Which would have been about a $26,000 raise, which would total around 101,000$

I vote that we do just that. have a dry run day where we leave all the amazon packages on the dock or parking lot.

Get rid of this union if it passes. I have talked to no one that is voting yes.
I wrote the union a letter that I was dropping them because they were not acting in the memberships best intrest and if they can deliver a good contract and improve working conditions mainly dealing with the over burden of packages I would beat the door down to get back in but till they do so in a timely maner count my money out.
so they already know I am a no vote.

the union that got fired was the air traffic controlers and it was the union buster reagan tthat did it. one difference between us and them the national gaurd has air traffic controllers that took over. I would love to see the gaurd out trying to deliver mail. the only bad part would be when they did settle with us we would have to clean that mess up.

Actually they would have a pretty easy time of it - at least compared to the wildcat strike of 1970. Back then every piece was hand sorted and 3-4 times as much mail as we have today. With 95%of our mail in sequence it would not be the burden it was back then. It is not unusual for a relief carrier to proficiently sort and deliver a route they have never been trained on!

No, people don't have the backbone or independent thinking to accomplish that today. Which is primarily why rural union is always last in USPS consideration. Small workforce and none of them will band together. USPS knows it. Nrlca knows it.
If were to ever happen again, it would likely be NALC or APWU that would spur it, as it was in 1970.... obviously, sheepy rurals would never, and have never had that sort of gumption... APWU has arguably conducted a few work slowdowns over the years.... not that they work all that fast anyways.... js.... 🤷‍♂️👉:ROFLMAO:
