Can rural carriers be forced to carry a city route?

My office is short rca’s and all regulars have been working their day off. The city side is short and are using our rca’s, is management allowed to do that?

Mgt can do what they please to get the mail delivered. City carriers will likely file a grievance. When I was an RCA I preferred helping on the city side, less mail and packages usually. This was pre-amazon !

There is this word that I’m very well known for...NO. If no rural work and mandated to work city... I’m sick. Need to go home. You are not held accountable for city craft and if they try to issue discipline it will be very hard to stick

Regs can't be forced just so city is covered. When we stop volunteering to "help out" maybe they will start hiring.
