Early retirement for Clark

On a serious note, wonder why they're offering early retire to clerks? Are the an excessive number? Thought that was one craft that was short also.
Well, the APWU / NPMHU employees that would qualify all have one thing in common. They are all on the "old" pay tables . As an aside, they are also the ones with the knowledge, experience, battle tested, etc. Generally speaking and regardless of craft , the new employees have little to no clue and didn't "come up through the ranks" so to speak. So, the plan is to get the "costly troublemakers" out of the loop. You know, the ones that know their rights and will file on issues and fight management.

great minds think alike

He hadn’t come up with any new food preservation ideas lately and I heard there was an incident at the company picnic with his cousin Eddie that caused some embarrassment so he was forced into retirement.

Less old timers means less knowledgeable ones to fight sd&c full steam ahead. That is besides the cost of employment to usps.
In our offices for the most part we have PM's throwing parcels for maybe 3 hours a day between AM and PM. Our PM's actually work, they're required to be in front of laptops on endless telecons so MPOO and District can visibly see they're sitting there. They all hate that part.
