Fighting a losing battle

Seems like this mini mailcount is yet another way to cheat the carrier. Are you'all getting any safety or service talks? We sure in the heck aren't!!! Before this count,we were even being dragged out into the parking lot to observe safety measures on backing our vehicles!!!! Thanks in advance!!!

your PM is supposed to entering those all year long. and you as a carrier have the right to see that they have been every single week. have you requested to see the entries all year?

when you get your results and none are listed, file a dispute.

-- You may have to remind manglement of the wording in the old Mail Count Guides:

- Weekly safety talks MUST be conducted. The actual time required ( usually five minutes per week ) must be recorded in column 17.

- Actual time for daily or weekly stand-up service talks in addition to safety talks.

- An additional time credit ( normally 5 minutes ) must be given to the route if management elects to repeat a weekly safety talk for the relief employees or a carrier who was not present.

-- In the world of RRECS, that would be:

- Std No. Actual - Safety/Service Talks. Weekly Avg: Supervisor input and OWD database

-- Should manglement say RRECS changed things, contact your Assistant District Representative if you don't have an office steward. Contact your ADR for a second opinion if the office steward agrees with manglement.

We were told last week that safety talks were " built in"

Also city carriers had a 30+ minute video they had to watch today ( i think about health insurance?) and none of the rural carriers were asked to watch.
We've had 2 different 30 minute videos in the past few months. I think the first one was about heat and the other was about hazmat packages. Haven't seen the insurance one though!

ANY full office standup or safety talk, video, one of the senior carriers in each office records the time and requests the timekeeper input that time for the day as such. The carrier verifies it's been done. Rural alone standups are timed similarly and documented to timekeeper.

If we have to listen to this crap we want to get the time!!!

They pay us 8127 time for lengthy videos, stand ups I record and highlight and make sure they get input the next day.

This dog is tired if it didn’t affect my pay I would just let them fend for themselves.

I worked five years in two of our other offices and they used to pay 8127. Now it's recorded as standup time daily.

Yep I'm the timekeeper in my office. We all write the time on our 4240s and our union Steward makes sure they've been entered.

So you get daily? We were getting them constantly before this count, even was dragged out into parking lot being educated on how to back correctly. Guess new PM thinks he is somehow saving his bonus by not giving them during count. We always wind up with the cream of the crop when it comes to management!

Don't you love the way they conjure up new ways to cheat us? They are not built in and I would file a grievance if I was not allowed to watch that video. They have to enter the time in every day that you have a talk or watch a video or we get nothing. Also, they are supposed to print off a radar report of our daily totals and post it for all to see. They will try to slide everything under the rug,it is up to us to give that rug a dxxx good shaking!!!!( Sorry, didn't want to curse, but this job would make a preacher have a foul mouth!!!!!

Thanks,as usual. I knew I had read this. I am now training to be our office Steward. Tired of office crap running over us carriers and old steward being job scared and licking managements' boots! I really appreciate all the help you have given me!!!!

Yes, daily. Sometimes combined city and rural, sometimes rural only, depends if there are other issues PM wants covered. Also, space, as our offices have lots of routes, tough to do all at once

Is just writing in the amount of time automatically known to be 8127 time? How do I make sure it is input the next day? Thanks. Management told me they are now able to adjust eos times. How are we going to keep track and check these things?
