How long until they started interim payments, and how close was that to the correct amount??? Then, how did they make up the interim shortfalls... was it in a separate deposit, or in with the 1st regular payment???

i got the interim payment the 1st of the next month after retiring, about 1/3..., because it did not include the ss sup.,... the final deposit all in one! my estimate from the po was a little short compared to official, but that might be by design... i m getting an extra $180 a month from buying back rcr time, will take 23 months to come out even... i figured 120 and didn't think it worth it, but opm called me and advised me to do it and glad they did!How long until they started interim payments, and how close was that to the correct amount??? I've heard the PO estimates are somehow tied in with OPM, but I'm not sure if that's really true.... they at least have to share some of the same calculations.... but we all know if the USPS can funk something up, they will....

There is an option dealing with this when you call 1 (877) 477-3273.
I mailed my paperwork yesterday. Yep !!! Had them clear the lobby so there would be NO distractions like children crying, phones ringing, people yelling, etc. Locked the front doors. Then, I asked ALL of the clerks to go on break except ONE. Handed the clerk my flat and let her know that she could take her time on the POS Machine with my stuff. LOL. But I did send it off yesterday. It's that time.

We are close to being the same time, the hardest part is going to be it includes one more winter!
Check weather take days off with bad forecasts
. Old primary did that last winter, joke was on them it was a mild winter. They did use up all leave and SL they had coming tho.

When I 1st started, the Reg I worked for made no bones about it.... they said if I wake up and see a lot of snow, just plan on working.... had a big ice storm, taking down power poles and so forth... I worked for a couple of weeks.... so I worked all the icy snowy days, that was just a given at the time.... work is work, I was okay with it...Check weather take days off with bad forecasts

Good for you!! I have to say mine went smoothly..for the most part! I went at the end of March. Got a partial check in May and then June/July it is all regulated. Not sure if you are keeping insurance, but the next bugaboo is finding a plan to match my APWU plan. Congrats and good luck!
