I swear i just read somewhere rca pay would now be 22.78 to encourage new hires. And that it would be back pay from November 2018. I got a pay increase of $.40. Did i not read this correctly or did i just dream it?

I started July 2012. Do you know when this is effective?
$22.87 is for RCA's on Table 3 Schedule 1, those hired between Aug 24, 1991 and Aug 10, 2012.
$26.74 is for RCA's and RCR's on Table 3 Schedule 2, those hired before Aug 24, 1991.
$18.19 for RCA's and ARC's on Table 4, those hired Aug 11, 2012 and after.
RCA's on Table 4 will be getting another raise in Nov 2019 to approx $18.56, and another in Nov 2020 to approx. $19.06.

The salary charts can be found on the union website under departments, labor relations; if you are a member. The projected raises were listed in the Special edition contract magazine that was mailed to members.

So the 22.78 to encourage new hires, sounds like someone from Table 3 trying to encourage RCA's to hang in there and maybe you will be making that amount in about 10 years. In 2012 they were making $19.64 on Sch 1 and $23.20 on Sch 2.

It was $17.78 for a long time and this paycheck says 18.19
So you are/have been paid Table 4 then, and $18.19 would be correct...with more increase coming:

$18.19 for RCA's and ARC's on Table 4, those hired Aug 11, 2012 and after.
RCA's on Table 4 will be getting another raise in Nov 2019 to approx $18.56, and another in Nov 2020 to approx. $19.06.

A disconnect here is that you said you started in July 2012, which should be
Table 3 Schedule 1, those hired between Aug 24, 1991 and Aug 10, 2012??

Yes i was hired in July 2012 for certain. Idk what happened. I'll have to contact the union i guess. Have i been getting underpaid for years?

Im jaded, been pro union all my life. Father and grandfather worked in non union slaughterhouses when they came over on the boat. Grim.. Father became a federal arbitrator/mediator dealing with union issues. There are good unions and bad unions. The nrlca has been co-opted by management I believe. At no point during my time at the po has the association negotiated us a real good contract, imho. Every contract we Take a hit, there are apparently limited professional negotiators on the nrlca payroll. Where is the affiliate we need? AFL-CIO to name just one? Smh

Lady Carrier et al -- "Thank your union! They got rid of the TRC position that management wanted to increase. "

-- The "thanks" should go to Arbitrator Clarke and his 2010-2015 award. "Effective August 11, 2012, the Postal Service will discontinue hiring Temporary Relief Carriers ( TRCs ) ( Designation Code 70 )..."

-- Or "negative" thanks to the union for not fighting hard enough to retain the TRC position. Of course, with the 2015-2018 contract, the ARC position appears.

-- Taking off on a "tangent": Isn't it time for the NRLCA to "clean" up its numerous designations of rural carriers.

- Could be wrong, but find it hard to believe there are still active designations for:

- Auxiliary Rural Carriers ( Designation 77 ) hired prior to 1981 to serve Aux Routes.

- Substitute Rural Carriers ( Designation 73 ) hired prior to July 21, 1981.

-- If so, those folks must really like their jobs to put in nearly 40 years with out becoming a regular carrier.
