what if you already have approve left hand turns? due to safety. It's the new mapping to optimize efficiency and take away lefts and miles.

THIS PEOPLE ^^^^^^. What @Gotrope states is golden. In fact, ANY time a route is "adjusted" , and it does not matter if they are taking the back third of the route and making it the first third of the route , you insist that the route be ACTUALLY driven by a human being. That would be a carbon based life form. All of this dotcom, AI, RRECS program, optimize this, and all of the other "technological improvements" have absolutely NO CLUE as to real life, real time, and real world situations , possibilities, activities, etc. All this "optimization program" , which is just ANOTHER "program" in the long list of other "PROGRAMS" which ARE NOT working properly in the first place, is doing is taking a dot on a screen and moving it along a line of travel on a screen. THAT'S IT !!! This "program" does not know about dogs, traffic, blind spots, businesses that you USED to get to before they closed but now you can't because the "program" decided to move them in the line of travel, weather, time of day at certain TCPs ( lunch traffic and the like ) , and a myriad of other factors. Since RRECS isn't working properly, the correct "adjustment" process is non existent as well , all kinds of mail NOT being recorded as credit for carriers, what would make anyone believe that this "optimization process" is actually going to perform properly ?And the route should be driven by mgmt to verify its safety. You can't always tell a blind spot on paper.

neither does the PM.All of this dotcom, AI, RRECS program, optimize this, and all of the other "technological improvements" have absolutely NO CLUE as to real life, real time, and real world situations , possibilities, activities, etc. . . . . Thank you for the concise update / clarification.Mandatory office standup for all rural carrier offices. One of our offices was selected as pilot for District.
The short version:
The District will determine if they believe a route should be analyzed. Most routes won't be affected. The software program (within LTM) will, for that specific route, indicate a revised line of travel. The carrier and the PM look at the revision, decide it's worth pursuing, or make a change to the recommendation, or decide to reject the proposal. PM and carrier physically drive the route to ensure their "in the office" ideas are accurate and the best fit. The PM, as of now, has final authority on any changes and can reject anything. All the other wording is just how the process is handled should a revision be decided upon and approvals.
yeah, had a section of road re paved. Went out with the dot guy to tell him where to put the mailboxes. One person HAD to have their mailbox right where it used to be. The state had re done the curve it was on, so when i was at the mailbox, i was at an angle to the road and could not see anything in my mirrors. Pm just rubber stamped the homeowners decision. The one comfort I have is that homeowners box has been wiped out by traffic three times in the last two years. It sits right where vehicles run when the road is slippery. Thankfully its no longer my route, and I dont have to worry about it.But that requires leaving the office and doing "actual work." They may have to work too hard then if they have to do this.
Stop complaining.well, my route got "selected".
old version: 10 left hand turns.
new version: 40. no kidding.
but hey, 3.6 miles shaved off!!!! the po will step over a dollar to save a dime. this also confirms that they have absolutely no regard for our safety.
management agrees with me that this version goes into file 13.
Are you going to file any 1767'S on those?well, my route got "selected".

if district over-rides us, yes.Are you going to file any 1767'S on those?
From what I’m seeing ALL routes are “selected” every time they are confirmed through LTM. They are reprocessed that evening.well, my route got "selected".
Stop complaining.
Ours have resequencing going through houses and over rivers with no bridges.
well, my route got "selected".

I sure recall when doing route realignments a LONG time ago helping PM, that there was in writing a directive to whenever possible always choose longer and right turn vs left turn cross traffic. Don't know if that's still anywhere, but it's the bible we've always accommodated.well, my route got "selected".
