Senate-passed bill would enable the Postal Service to borrow an additional $10 billion from the U.S. Treasury, under conditions established by the Secretary of the Treasury. In addition, simlar to the H.R. 6379, the Senate bill would prioritze the mail delivery of medical products and provide the Postal Service with flexibility in establishing temporary delivery points.

Continuation: "...Postal Service with flexibility in establishing temporary delivery points in such form and manner as the Postal Service determines necessary, to protect employees of the Postal Service and individuals receiving deliveries from the Postal Service."

Sounds similar to Amazon type lockers.

-- Just fine and dandy.

-- Will it be "clerk work" or "carrier work" to disinfect the lockers after every use?

We need NEW MANAGEMENT! Not more money for the clowns who got us into this financial disaster! For god -sakes we propelled Amazon into a multi-billion dollar company single-handedly with poor revenue business decisions made by our stupidity riddled management! Just another Management bail-out that will be paid for by rural carriers!

Whatever this inititiative entails, the USPS planners will be looking to leverage these drop points for post-caronavirus use.

Unlike the usual territory and task disputes, can't see the unions wrangling over who gets the disinfecting honors.

Oh boy, usps is about to do something stupid with all this cash.
Usps 1st purchase: 7 billion in toilet paper.
2nd purchase: 3 billion in remodeling all Post Masters offices.

Can't wait to see how they'll p*ss away that money without doing anything that even remotely helps the primary mission of the PO of getting the mail delivered!! Hire more management to mismanage the over-micromanaged micro-strangled masses, most likely!!

We should be swimming in gold like Amazon is. The profits we should be making would put UPS and FEDEX to shame. Usps wouldnt even have to think twice about borrowing money and theyd even be able to afford to give employees pay raises...not that they would lmao

All -- "Senate-passed bill would enable the Postal Service to borrow an additional $10 billion from the U.S. Treasury."

-- Wonder how much of the $10 BILLION the USPS will be "allowed" to borrow actually belongs to the USPS from its 2006 PAEA "contributions?"
