UPS Saturday

All --  Apparently the UPS has heard the cry of the rural carriers about the number of parcels the rural carriers deal with, so UPS is going to start Saturday Parcel Deliveries.  By November, the UPS expects to have Saturday Delivery in 4,700 towns and cities and 5,800 locations by the end of 2018.   In the process, UPS sees 6,000 new job opportunities.

Rural's never got credit for Sunday parcels and apparently will see a drop ( just like during Count ) in UPS parcels on Saturdays.

Probably the UPS will see how well the program goes and will move up program implementation to EARLY 2018 to reach 5,800 locations -- before THAT time of the year.

No doubt we will soon be seeing an article out of NRLCA about how HQ is going to provide some parcel relief for the rural carriers.

The USPS will temporarily lose Amazon, UPS will deliver on Saturdays, and we will have a mail count in spring of 2018.

After the count, the USPS will agree to a new NSA with Amazon,  UPS will discontinue the Saturday delivery program, and we will again be delivering parcels for free.

Doing things without being paid is the rural way. Want to fix the problem??? The union ignores us because they receive at least $25 million in dues. Cut off their money and they will listen. We have been cheated at mail count for over 20 years, and the union does nothing. I can remember when counts were fair and accurate. National is arrogant because they are rolling in cash.
