We have overtime leading all the way up to Christmas. The difference is we get paid. If you're short handed now (we are) you'll be short handed then (we will be). I don't imagine it'll let up in December.

Guarantee Period begins on October 10 this year. Remember that X-Days earned prior to Oct 10 cannot be used until after the Christmas OT Period has ended (Dec 26).
The Post Office has their own “Peak Season“ that starts in November but I don’t know the date. Mgmt is notorious for quoting Peak Season as a reason to deny leave but it’s not OUR peak season & NOT a valid reason for denial.

They should be paid out after 12 weeks. That said, I've never heard of any being paid out unless carrier requested( with a steward and a grievance)

Most of us save them as additional leave , whenever we can can get an extra body.

You don't lose them till you use them or get paid for them. They best not just disappear.

Yes, X-days are still viable on December 26 if earned prior to October 10. From the Beginning of Guarantee to end of Christmas OT does not count in the “12-week” timeframe. The ”12-weeks” clock stops until the X-days can be used again. We never ”lose” X-days as they are either used as Leave or paid out. “Paid out” Is not automatic & many times the Carrier has to let mgmt know when the 12-weeks is passed.
