Based on this release, the Equipment Maintenance Allowance (EMA) for rural carriers will decrease 2.0¢ to 95.0¢ per mile. This EMA rate will be effective April 4, 2026 (Pay Period 09-2026).

a few years ago when gas prices were going up, we were told don’t put anymore than $40. If you drive a metris, that’s maybe half a tank probably even less with the prices now. So when subs inevitably drain it to below empty, you’ll be pumping every single day spending MORE than if you just filled it up the first time. I’m glad! Now I can go get a cool drink, grab a snack and use the bathroom at the mega gas station on my route while USPS pays in triplicate for it with their stupid mandates.

I'm filling it up like crazy because none of the subs will get a POV they can deliver in, they just take my van in the afternoons and run it ragged....makes me livid
