This is very important to share and check in with people. Mental health problems and depression hide in plain site.
Be supportive of anyone trying to seek help.
Well said Gotrope.....It's even more important to realize that there is NO SHAME in recognizing that sometimes we have more than we can handle in Life.
It is NOT a shameful thing to ask for help,
many of us due to the pressure of having some of the worst bottom of the barrel in po mgmt face all kinds of abuse, sexual/mental/physical harrassment, mgmt threatening loss of our job, really TOXIC WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENTS. The best thing to do is....ask for help....because those kind of hateful po mgmt cant stand it when we as people, but also rural carriers find peace, confidence, joy, and the ultimate in satisfaction of being able to take care of our loved ones, and doing this job day in, and day out with pride....it just BURNS them up. So, reach out to others, ask for help, DO NOT LET LIFE, OR PO MGMT tell you, you dont matter, because that's a LIE.
YOU DO MATTER....to your family, your friends, your customers on your route, God has a plan for your Life, or else you wouldnt be here today reading this....❤❤❤❤🙂🤠

If you are working on a specific problem you may be able to get more, a lot more, than 6 weeks. Even your therapist may need to call in to find this out. It will be hard to pursue because my description is poor but I did get close to a year.

I had a sibling, having a tough time with spouse, ask me what I would do in their shoes. I said, I'd go for counseling. Regardless of whether the other partner wanted to go or not. Go for yourself. Start the effort to help you. Learn some managing techniques to keep your anxiety and stress levels under control when the other person is looking for an argument. Communication is a learned skill. If you go to the gym for your body, why can't you go to a counselor for your brain?

We all have an inner Stitch who glitches every so often.

I don't understand the self shame of needing help. That's nothing more than pride stopping you from getting better. And pride is often the blockade to a better future.

They asked me if I ever went for counseling ( I'm sure they expected me to say no). I said, yes. You don't get paroled from federal service after as long as I served without counseling or a bullet.
I told them counseling was mandatory every 6-12 months on most of my jobs. Sometimes for things you can't unsee. Mostly, just as stress mgmt.

It takes guts to ask for help. Never shame anyone trying to improve.
