Aren’t the last mile deliveries the most costly & “least” profitable ? Why would anyone want those deliveries ? The post office loses plenty on these deliveries !

You have it right. The title should read "Amazon, FedEx, UPS and any other shipper is going to dump packages on USPS" This is the exact opposite of what Dejoy was doing. When amazon could drop off at the dock, we got pallets (has been over a year ago). th

Well, the S&DC would let "local" mean a wider area. Carriers from various PO's meet there, so next day delivery to a different town would be possible without going to a regional facility. More parcels, but maybe just adding parcel density to the carrier. One trip to door, but deliver 5 pkgs instead of one might be cheaper.

Yep the old, we lose $5 per package but make it up in volume........ (meaning -$5.00 turns into -$15.00, instead of -$25.00 for delivery of 5 packages )

Postal logic works great!!! refer to previous post about loss being made it by volume. If you only go in the hole $15 instead of $25, then you made a $10 PROFIT??? LOL Maybe I should start a business and sell in bulk only. I will pay $100 for items in inventory and if sold individually, the price would be $95. But I can sell it bulk, 5 units, only for $485!!!! Since I just made a $2 profit ( 95 x 5 = $475 and I sold 5 for $485.................... $10 / 5 units ), I can now go to the bank and borrow $100 Billion to buy a billion more items to sell ......... .............. so I can show a profit of $2 billion LOL Oh wait, I would be bankrupt even after selling all inventory being 3 billion in the red .............. See that's how you move things around and confuse the accounting and pay myself a $500 million bonus for selling a billion items and having incoming revenue of $97 Billion per year. At $97 Billion in sales a year on a billion units, I would rival Apple if I could sale 5 billion units............... Hey, Mr. Banker, loan me $500 billion so I can sell $465 billion a year.

NGDVs replacing our not quite year old metris fleet. Things were 00 odes as dropped and already losing them. Mind you the duckbill are fantastic vehicles for city and suburbia. Not for rough and tumble country tho, too tall for mountain work of which we got a couple routes.

10 of the routes in office are already swapped, some of the carriers are rebelling and trading keys while management stays detached. VMF comes in the midst of the night and makes the trades, so it's been a little random to me but someone must have a plan. Plan/rumor says trades should be done no later then May, so
