Postal Service’s Employee Vetting Process Project start date Wednesday, September 10, 2025 Estimated release April 2026 The Postal Service must thoroughly screen and evaluate prospective employees to ensure suitability and maintain the integrity of the organization. The level of clearance required is based on the type of position; however, most positions are considered low risk […]

they need to pass a civil service exam regardless of the position. They also need to pass an extensive background check, criminal and driving record. Also undergo a complete physical to make sure they can perform the duties of the job they are applying for. They need to pass a drug test before being hired and at least random during the probationary period. I remember when I was hired over forty years ago if you at least made it to an interview you were lucky.these days they will practically hire anyone with a heartbeat. Also management needs to quit abusing the new hires and treating them like crap, I’ve personally seen many new hires quit within the first few weeks because of the constant abuse and threats they were subjected to. All of this shouldn’t take twelve weeks either.

We could have especially violent offenders on work release for the last five years of their sentence. If they don't kill anybody during that time 25 more years in the Postal Service and they are free.
