Juneteenth

If Saturday is carrier’s scheduled relief day, the carrier will have off the preceding day, which would be Friday. If carrier is required to work Friday, carrier will have Daca code V.
If Saturday is a Holiday, the Observed Holiday is moved to Friday. Saturday Relief are not effected since it is not the OBSERVED Holiday. Friday Relief will be off on Thursday Instead since their Holiday moves back one day. The question is is the PO actually gonna work on Christmas Day due this rule? Can’t recall what we did for July 4 last year as it fell on a Saturday.

Would we have any standing with this from the ELM rural carriers working holidays? Don’t print it if you don’t want it used!

Being that I am Dave, I'll give y'all some inside information.
The NRLCA has filed a step 4 grievance already to have all regular carriers paid for this "New" holiday. Those that work will be paid 200%, 100% for working, and 100% for the holiday.
As for post 93 from Tammy, if you work a "Pivot" (city term for regular carriers helping on other than your own route) there is NO WAY for you to legally be paid. As of 2 weeks ago, the MOU allowing regulars to volunteer on other routes has ended. Our union had to withdraw this MOU due to many managers "Misinterpreting" it and mandating regulars to work/help on other routes.

happy juneteenth day everybody! thinking about this, it is a day that not only should we embrace, but celebrate... its proof that our country can change and survive, people can change.. fortunately, there are no direct survivors of this sad time in our history... except:cry:
the sex trade, if you are looking for a good movie, after celebrating today success's, watch this

it was the same as every Saturday holiday.

Saturday was K, Friday was holiday.
(K Friday was K, Thursday was holiday)
(I'm a Sat K)

PO was closed on Saturday. :)

here is Christmas this year:

Won't this be sorta a contradiction if they DON'T pay us holiday pay for this holiday.... I mean, this is supposed to be celebrating the end of slavery, but then they're not gonna give us holiday pay for working it.... seems like that's more celebrating slavery, rather than the end of it.... and USPS *said* they "fully support" this holiday..... js.... put your money $$$$ where your mouth is..... ? ?‍♂️?(y)

Btw.... was a pretty easy peasy day today.... :giggle:

You would think that if the NRLCA had the kahunas to initiate a step 4 they would be very eager to display that accomplishment, front & center on their web site. Instead once again there is nothing but crickets!
Yeah, sometimes I think that "Dave" guy is full of $#!+ .... I guess time will tell... I'm js..... SHOW ME THE $$$ MONEY!!!!! ? ???(y)

National mandate stand up I was asked to read today from the new Assistant Postmaster General indicates that since the law was signed, there wasn't enough time to give our employees the day off, as we are critical to the country.

There will be a paid holiday day off in the near future for this year only as other government agencies were accommodated. We will honor the holiday in subsequent years on the same day off as all other government and private sector will.

So what does that mean.... are we getting holiday pay for THIS year, as we worked the holiday.... sheezy Louisy.... just come out and tell us, in plain English..... hey y'all we're gonna give you holiday pay for working this year, since we "fully support" this holiday, and you were so essential that we couldn't give you the day off this year.... how about that.... not too hard.... ?‍♂️:giggle:
