Being USPS, I'm guessing pen/paper.

It says they are using cards carriers can sign. Doesn't mention how to get one, though.

Name one federal position, agency, or government position faces the salary cuts and wage uncertainty like we face. I don't even think highway contractors have to worry as much about pay decreases like that. Something has to be done. Nobody should work for a company for 20 years, and have their pay slashed by thousands and with the potential for more each six months.

Says the 48k. Let them have their moment. And we don't know from postal data that the data is faulty. Mostly, because they refuse to release the frikn data. Or the formulas.

I can't really find myself unconcerned when a paycheck did a disappearing act for many. Did they over extend? Maybe. Did they assume the OT was part of the permanent check ? Probably. But, they hVe learned now. As everyone else here for any length of time has learned to distrust our employer.

As much traction as this is getting, I feel like theres a lot of obstacles to overcome. For one, like everyone else has stated, there doesn’t even seem to be a clear and obvious way to sign the petition. Is there a website? Can I do it online? Where can I read the full plan and what are the main goals of the group who initiated this?

I dislike our union for a number of reasons and would actually be on board with giving them the boot. But I would never sign something without fully understanding the consequences.

Which leads to my biggest concern. What happens after decertification? Has teamsters signed an agreement to actually step in and take over? Or we going to be left with our cheeks flapping in the wind? Imagine the amount of damage to the rural side if we are left for any amount of time without a union or contract.

You are only singing to have a vote. Teamsters or another union cannot propose anything until we actually get the process going by getting a vote. People must understand the petition itself will not guarantee decertification, but will allow union members to vote on whether the NRCLA will continue to represent us.

Okay that makes more sense. I guess I havent read enough into it, but that wasn’t made immediately clear to me. This is my first union job and the process is new.
So once we get enough people to sign that we want to take a vote, THEN all of our questions will be answered? Like who will represent us, etc.

Also, related question. Does replacing our union even allow us to strike? If not, how does anything change?

Federal law prevents us from striking.

I just saw them all go up $1000 from the cola.
News flash: your route went down in evaluated hours because you’re doing less work now.
We need to move beyond this nonsense.

You would make a great union official. You know full well they slash time standards. You don't know my route, do speak on what you know. Im starting highly doubt your a rural carrier.

My route gained 18 hours because the time standards for parcels actually went way up.
I love my job unlike most of the miserable, defeatist, let’s burn the whole thing down sentiment of many people on this board.

I'm not informed on labor issues, but I can't imagine why the Teamsters would be interested in us to begin with. Horribly low participation rate, demonstrated apathy, and most importantly, an employer with no money.

There's nothing to add to the Teamster's bank account. Just a charity case.

We'd probably be better off if someone like Bezos somehow bought USPS. He'd realize that the high wages at UPS could create a shipping bonanza opportunity via USPS if it were run properly. UPS is going to have to make up that money before shareholders flee.

How the standards of everything changing besides parcels going up?? I agree less work but my argument against that is why did the standard of mail double????

Verifying mail at 86 ppm. I have done a game dozen at post offices and most I can get is 50 PPM.
