additionally, employers are legally allowed to set the bar for employment requirements.

quite a few out there in the wild require drug testing. people make choices every day where they want to apply.

This whole thing must be a response to the recent scheduling changes to reinforce our drug policies, so people don't get the wrong idea.

Seems nuts to me that it was ever discontinued to begin with .. they had screening back in the day when I first started....

-- Probably some bean counter noted the cost of drug screenings, so to save some $$, the screening were halted.

-- Hopefully the USPS is getting enough people interested in signing on, that the USPS can afford to "weed" out potential problems.

They needed bodies to subsidize Amazon, but that mission is mostly behind USPS now, so back to being broke and having higher employee standards without increasing pay.

I do wonder how common smoking weed is among USPS employees in states like Colorado where it's legal according to state law...

For anybody who served in the military, they screen new people and also test everybody periodically without prior notice... How many current USPS employees would test positive if they were randomly tested????

I think the problem with that is, if you test positive on a random drug test, is it from what you were doing in the "privacy of my own home" or were you out smokin' a bong on your mail route... Js... Who knows... somebody posted above that they see carriers stoning out in the parking lot at the PO... wth...
