We already have too many airhead Postmasters here that got their job sleeping with the POOM and suddenly were more qualified than other candidates with many years of experience. Keep that stuff away! Frankly if you're in college the last thing you want to do is intern at USPS.

I swear every office is like this not just management fellow co workers as well. Men or women doesn’t seem to matter something about the culture makes it seem normal when in fact it’s abhorrent.

I used to privately think about all the affairs and naughty behavior as the best sitcom/soap opera source ever. I used to amuse myself with titles for shows:
as the letter bends
a clerks tail
the stamped letcher
living the trouple life
key party at the district

it boggled my mind how many ways people can F their lives with no concern for fallout of children or partners. I'm not sure what it is about postal life that makes this so normal. it's never been normal in any other career I've ever been associated with - even extremely high stress ones. it was an odd culture change at USPS around the mid 1990's. maybe it was all the lead And asbestos.

Well I'm sure the issue is that his subordinates are more than happy to cut craft hours and pay, reduce services, slow down mail, etc, but refuse to compromise when it comes to managerial waste.

he was looking for an easy fix job. he has realized decades of internal govt corruption can't be fought without a bloodbath.

yes, the first rule of thumb is to relocate. dealt with that many times. but, eventually they can't save the truly miscreant. even with mgmt wanting to give a pass to any behavior.
I found the best way to deal with it was EEOC. repeatedly. then headquarters starts looking at lost $$$ to unnecessary expenditures. that is what usually gets them out. paper trails and eeoc losses.
