I was just notified today that the route will be cut starting tomorrow. No specific reason as to why was given. In the grievance what question should I be asking?

-- For starters, get in touch with your Assistant District Representative -- like yesterday!!

-- How many routes in your office are facing being cut?

-- Something like "Did management violate Article 30.1.J -- Carrier's Rights in Route Adjustments -- by not notifying me in advance of route adjustments and not giving me the opportunity to submit written comments?" Your ADR can probably give you something better to use - if not getting the process halted for a while.

-- Step 4 ( G06R-4G-C 11258844 ) had an issue regarding adjusting a rural route that...
Well first off cutting a route is for the carrier to request. As long as your making your evaluation and your being paid then why they touching you? Plus your a 46 so a cut doesn't make sense? So is there a reason you know of for this action. That will help with the question for the grievance.

Shouldn't cut unless your at least a 47 and not cut below a 43 why r they cutting? where is the cut going? Why, why, why why would you leave without some answers? Who is cutting? who will have any input on your route? What r they taking? Where did this come from....... omg unbelievable!!!!

Does this apply to you? Have you added boxes?

Overburdened Routes
a. Definition
A route is considered overburdened when:
(1) The standard hours for the route are out-
side of the Table of Evaluated Hours; or
(2) The regular rural carrier who is assigned to
the route does not, or is not expected to, meet
the requirement to stay within the annual
guarantee for the route.

-- Step 4 ( G06R-4G-C 11258844 ) had an issue regarding adjusting a rural route that was not in an overburdened status. Does your route meet either of "UnknownUser's" definitions of being "overburdened"?

- In part: rural routes should not be adjusted solely for the purpose of creating equitable route evaluations.

-- Step 4 ( R-133 ) in part: After reviewing this matter, we mutually agree that there are currently [ 2003 ] some restrictions form adjusting routes upward or downward without reason.

-- Is "squaring up" routes a reason being given by manglement for the route cutting?

-- Posted in the "PM wants to cut 25 of my boxes" thread from 2017: If your route is NOT overburdened, mgmt can 'square-up' your route but they must maintain the SAME evaluation.

-- Chapter 8 of the M-38 deals with Relief of Rural Routes.

-- Good luck.
