Management made a route adjustment and put in a 1 hour base change. What they didn’t do was utilize the box increases I had which should have resulted in an increase of 1 hour and 50 minutes. As it turned out my standards went up only 50 minutes. Which resulted in an hour increase for my evaluation but standard minutes are wrong. Is a base change different from an interim adjustment?

A base hour change does not require 60 minutes worth of change to increase or decrease your salary. They occur when a route has changes such as:

*Assignment of a government vehicle
*Hardship delivery
*Results of a DPS review (letters or flats)
*Seasonal route in/out of season
*Temporary deviation over 30 days

When they do a base hour change, due to mileage adjustments or whatever, then the paperwork from the resulting change will show up stating it is an interim adjustment. So, it's sorta the same thing.

So, did you get a 1 hour increase, but it should have been 2???

*** my understanding is, an "interim adjustment" is just a change made in between mailcounts....

An interim adjustment requires 60 minutes worth of boxes and/or mileage to increase or decrease your salary.

Article 9.2.C.10 explains:

Management appears to have only done the base hour portion of the change and neglected to include those portions that would be included in an interim adjustment.

e4003 software allows management to combine interim changes with base changes as highlighted green in the e4003 instructions below:

Ask management for a printout of your past 2 or 3 Form 4003's and 4241-A's, verify the accuracy of your claims, then present your argument.

It shouldn't be difficult for them to change the effective dates and overturn the error, if one exists.

If necessary, smile and file. ? ?&?

Also look at the table of evaluated hours............ 1 hr 50 min added to the previous 4003 time might put evaluation in several different categories. More than likely it will get you 2 hours instead of 1. And might put into a J category that might even pay $10,000 a year more than if you took the K option.
