I know mail goes down in spring, but I have never seen it this low ever, and I have had other carriers comment on this to me saying they have never seen it this bad in the last few years.

don't know observant you are, but for at least a week after the price increase, we were delivering mail for presidents day sales already... mailers shipped everything,,, to keep the cheaper rate. it'll slowly show up, at lower volumes again, but it'll pick up

I thought that the 5 digit bundles where to be separated and distributed by the Clerks so they counted as RAW during the Mini Count?

I'll go ahead and clarify. I did say five months so for the last five months no one in our office knows who has a forward.

Amazing news. I told not having COARS labels might be just what we need to get count (mini survey) thrown out.

Within 30-40 minutes. Label maker hooked up and 2122 labels were waiting to be printed. He was on third pack of labels when I left.

LOL. Yes, you did just waste a lot of breath because i already know everything you said. I'm simply saying i believe they are juggling things around for some reason. I had no newspapers today, not one. If you look at the posts before mine, that's what was being mentioned, a change in DPS and flats, no labels. As a carrier, when something changes in the dailey mix that your used to seeing what your route has everyday it's pretty noticeable.

I understand that is the % being thrown out. It may or may not be accurate, because frankly I don’t believe any numbers or % given. Personally I am in the mind set every second counts.

There is a lot more going on in my office then I am saying. Yes, union has been contacted mum is the word from them. I am going up the chain properly.

Here’s the thing… Bundled flats #s are given to the P.O. from the sender. The flats in tubs are machine counted at the plant. Ever notice that sometimes the plant will break those up, machine them, & send them in tubs? That gives us a double credit… #s from the shipper & machine sorter count from the plant. They can keep juggling to make their Clerk time look productive if it’s giving me double credit.

Double triple or quadruple credit is NOT gonna help you nor anyone else much if ANY with this MINI survey they are calling it with a WHOPPING max credit of evaluation of 6%...sorry but that is my 2 cents and opinion! I believe THEY know the numbers NOW and HAVE known for our evaluations-WHY DO WE NOT KNOW?!

Mgmt doesn’t know anything. The flats in the tubs & in bundles aren’t getting counted since they aren’t part of the Raw Flats. The Mini Survey accounts for so little because of all the data that’s being collected the rest of the year. Footage is 1% so the Misc Timings & 3 counted types make up the 5%. Worry more about the RRECS scans & where you are scanning since that holds more water.

Would labels printed out from entering an MLNA on the scanner go towards the count? Might be a good time to hit some of those names frequently showing up on junk mail.

Yes they count.

If you don’t put them in throughout the year, then do 100 during count…

For convenience and loss of labels, have them print the last 6 or 12 months of fwds. Its in coars , can be printed alphabetical or by rt address order.
Start rt and end rt boxes must be same rt or it'll print whole office...Most managers don't have a clue.....

I agree. Our mgmt team focuses just on six scans. When me and someone else have tried to share the value of the whoe 24 scans, our manager has said "do union business on yr own time". This past Thursday someone asked me a question re: mini manipulation and we were told to case our mail, do this off the clock. I told my Mgr this matters for the whole office. He said, they can't do since so whatever, it's on them. Weak thinker moving on up....
