• Everyone, please help make our jobs easier and choose the correct category. Thank you

Just don't understand......

I just dont want to go digging for a dolly -thats just me-not to say in the future if I stay I will not get one...who knows about the future anymore with the postal service-I take day by day-and NOTHING surprises me anymore!
Most days I can place mine in the sidestep in my LLV or behind my seat if needed. No digging required.

It takes less time to just deliver with my dolly than to write up a 3849 & NOT get the door-delivery credit. It takes maybe 2 seconds max to flip it open/closed & my arms & back thank me.
Who bought it?..supplied it?..you didnt mention loading it and onloading it,repositioning it etc..again, as I've said earlier, the system is designed to nickel and dime us..I'm not giving them one more dime..and I'll write it up..my neck and back thank ME

Awesome, and making the best of it is a life kind of thing. Most of us are not dealt the top hand, but we make the best of it. We all make our own choices, and live with the outcomes. Glad things worked out for you KDM.
Like I said...trade off

WOW WOW, you really want to compare delivering mail with being in the military/WAR for many of us? A trade off discussion..... Everyone who joins the military expects the possibilities of combat. And many of us have that experience, AND everything that goes along with the experience. I stayed with the military because I wanted to, you stayed with the USPS, you were not forced. You really wanna USPS vs military?
Yup...I really do...you volunteered..right?
The post was about working for free...js...I stay bc I love my job..not who I work for...and that goes for most govt officials these days

Not saying you owe me anything, but you chose this job Blahblahblah (your words), you were not drafted. Now you wanna complain about your choice?
The post was about working for free..time is $$$..work for free..I could care less

Surprised you are complaining since you "love your job"? I personally am grateful and appreciate the job, and everything that goes with it. But then again I have a choice and choose not to be negative. Good luck to you.

If you need and bought a dolly, couldn't you claim it on your taxes as a business expense?

Definition - An expense that meets the definition of ordinary and necessary for business purposes can be expensed and, therefore, is tax-deductible.

For most ppl your itemized deductions will be less than the standard deduction so you would not claim the purchase of a dolly as a deduction.

The tax laws were changed in 2017 so the use of itemized deductions for us regular ppl do not come into play for the most part.

Hmmm interesting, but I'm sure you bought other items for your work as well (gloves, shoes, clothing, etc.... just can't be used for non work), gotta be worth the deduction. It's a worthwhile discussion....... thanks for info

Maybe it's a mute point, but for 30 to 50 bucks you can buy a foldable dolly. Does it make your job easier? Does it help service your customers? Work smart not hard.

My office purchased four pretty nice heavy duty hand trucks. On any given day, two or three of them go to the street on any given route(s) and the clerks will use one occasionally in house. I cited safety and this from the 603 ;
142.3 Equipment and Supplies
The USPS supplies all additional necessary equipment, supplies, and forms.

Wasn't an issue at all and we are not an Amazon office either. However, we still have plenty of customers that just have to order 15 cases of bottled water, or the 7 boxes of dog food for their chihuahua , and all of the furniture for their homes because as we all know all too well, there aren't any stores at all whatsoever here in town.

I bought my own although my PM also purchased some. Those are bigger & more bulky.
AM Loading it is in Loading Time. PM unloading is in the EOS
Again, the sheer wear & tear of trying to “lug” all those.

Gut wrenching. Surely you have no worries in RRECs? Seriously, thats probably more than a UPS driver would do in a day, plus you are delivering mail, and doing all your own sorting and loading.

I had a small bag of sugar in the back of POV Tues. (don't ask) and actually took it out to make sure I could stuff all the boxes for second half of the route.

The ones my PM bought wouldn’t fit in that mess. Mine fits up front behind my seat or in the Step-well.
