Postmaster meeting- talk of the count being thrown out

Postmaster attended meeting this week, and told me there is credible talk coming from higher up that this count will be thrown out AND we will be getting evaluated only once a year. Take it for what it's worth.

Here's my issue with the mini count as of now.

#1 If they do a MINI COUNT, it needs to be for an entire month, not 2 weeks. At least if you do a month, you cover everything water bills and so on if they come in raw. I'm one of the lucky ones where all my water bills fall on these days.

I actually think even the Amazon offices will be asking WTF ???? when this RRECS monster spits out their evals.... time will tell.... 🤷‍♂️🧐
Yes, I think they rigged rrecs to where the heavy amazon offices will stay even. That's just my opinion. I'm a light amazon office where we used to be heavy. Even then with years of parcels going up including our own products and with amazon slowly declining since its peak we should be pretty even.

If that ends up being ground truth.... then nobody will be any better off, and many will likely be worse off.... what a great win for USPS..... 🤷‍♂️(n):poop:

Yeah, it would be terrible. I only say this because it seemed like they built rrecs to be built more around the packages. Since that is the trajectory for the USPS for the last few years. But its all my opinion. I'm no engineer.

The USPS seems to expect to rape the rural craft about every decade.... did it in 2002 following the Wells arbitration, then in 2012 we had another bloodbath arbitration that gave us Table 2 and other severe beatings.... now here we are in 2023, almost overdue for another good @$$ whippin'.... and yes, this is still fallout from the 2012 arbitration that called for RRECS..... I'll be highly surprised if RRECS doesn't turn out to be a bloodbath.... 🤷‍♂️(n):poop:

well, i can throw out the count any time i want. Talked to my adr today. Pm told me to count my own dps throwbacks. No one checks the numbers. Im in an rmpo with a pse. Ptf clerk stops in for 30 minutes in the morning to count flats and letters. Then leaves me to fill in the blanks.

Boy you can just make up some good numbers and come out ok since no one is there. What a joke this place is

Oh my gosh, almost like RRECS was grieved for being in violation of 9.2.A.1???

The Delivery Point Manager (DPM) and Line of Travel Manager (LTM) must be 100% accurate with stops, boxes, parking spot, etc. for the count to work. Your edit book and Form 4003 must match the DPM and LTM, and carriers should be seeing/reviewing that themselves with the manager. Anything unscanned must get an unscanned scan for credit (such as mail a books or mail coming off hold). You must scan things where they are transferred (to the mailbox, to the customer, etc.) You must also get satchel reloading time as a percentage of all scans [ (Dismounts + total parcel count from RIMS) * 8 seconds/60. If you do these things, your count will be accurate. If they aren't, get them fixed before the end of the count.

In my RMPO, I don't even get the daily visit. The counting is done at the APO. I count the raw in DPS and inverted, etc., with no one else witnessing or confirming my numbers.

The only thing management has been present for at the RMPO is the walking distances. Any other mini count activities either have not been done, or were done remotely. Even the stand-up pre-count talk - the write up of the talk was emailed to the clerk who dropped the printout at my case.

The list of failures just keeps getting longer.

Correct !!! April 8th , I believe.
That's convenient
If rrecs gets tossed out, I would be fine with it because I’m a non Amazon office. However, Amazon offices should immediately get a count, but a parcel count to adjust for their extreme amount of parcels being delivered with a rate adjustment! Further, if a change in the dps can cause a rate pay change, the same should apply for growth in parcels. That would probably satisfy the Amazon offices!
Our office is fluctuating with Amazon . One day we get alot , the next day nothing .

We never had a pre count talk in our office ...
