Funny Stuff from facebook Regarding the RRECS Q&A.

I started a rumor that there was going to be a Major Award given to the carrier with the most Unscanned Parcel entries upon completion of RRECs data every year; and that I was going to win it.

That may get some of my cohorts on the wagon.
School vacations are happening in my area for these two weeks so I should have about 15 when holds are delivered before the end of the Mini-Count.

Sadly, I think I've missed lots of opportunities to do a lot of these and other scans.... we get focused on doing what is REQUIRED for our jobs, and that's usually not an insignificant amount of stuff.... and often forget to do some of this optional stuff...., I figure this is part of their design plan.... We've heard some of the REQUIRED scans aren't giving us credit, when it could and SHOULD, like H scans.... coincidence???? I don't think so.... 🤷‍♂️(n):poop::oops:

That's a work around because apparently during the entire time of the study the engineers never encountered a carrier doing a second trip. Rather amazing that. 🤷‍♂️
Yes-why in the world is PM casing a key to hit for 2nd trips? WHY? Why didn't these engineers just add in a 2nd trip key scan?

I think this is the confusion for a lot of carriers... At least the ones that arent retiring this year ;). EVERY applicable scan is a required scan. It is not optional. Management seems to always forget this in their stand-up talks.
Parcel pickup scans aren't required in the sense that nobody is gonna be on your @$$ as they would if you didn't do a delivery scan.... same with stamp sales, UNSCANPARCELs, etc., etc.... so that's all I'm saying.... many of those types of scans are not being done, and nobody is getting griped at for not doing them..... forget a set of WSS or boxholders, don't hold your breath to hear about it from anybody at the PO.... so, call them required if you wanna... but I'm telling ya, many aren't doing them.... retiring or not.... 🤷‍♂️

That's been the same credit for pulled DPS since the old mail counts. 🤷‍♂️

"1. Credit will be given in Column 1, Let-
ters, for each piece when there are
seven pieces or less.
2. Credit will be given in Column 6, Par-
cels, for one parcel when there are
eight pieces or more.
3. These mail pieces will not be deducted
from Column 3, DPS Letters"
It's not about "what" the item is. It's about the time credited. It's cheaper to credit as a parcel vs raw letters. ie: unscan=20 seconds ? , 8 raw= 31 seconds

I have always believed that was the credit for redelivery. It has never made any sense to pull a parcel out of DPS. I have always received piece-count credit for pulling letters from DPS.

As an aside, I found this in DPS the other day. I'm hoping this is just a fluke and not something they're starting to try out:

How about parcels we received that were forwarded from another route/office? We get NO CREDIT to deliver those parcels. The bar code shows the latest delivery time and place, but the route that the bar code is originally associated with get the delivery credit, just like parcels delivered by rcas helping on different routes give route credit to the route they are helping.
It would be good, not bad, to do an unscanned parcel rrecs scan for those, in addition to the barcode scan, and probably should be done twice, just to make sure. Doing the unscanned parcel scan twice, may give more evaluation time credit than deserved, but, if it only happens few and far between, it would be better to be safe, than sorry. If we ever get timely reports on our scans, we could see if we would need to continue to do time consuming scans, just to be safe.
