RRECSulator.com

Thanks for the kind words. I'm just glad people are getting some use from it :)

The deepest cuts were from street time: box time and DPS (always been street time!).

The biggest gains are also street time: to-the-door parcels and drive time.
but they are more route dependent, not every route has the parcels, not every route gains on drive time.

I've been tracking my route for a couple of months now. My actual time is normally within 20 minutes of my RRECS time, sometimes I'm over, sometimes I'm under...

Curious to know what patterns you uncover, please keep us posted! :)
Has anybody communicated comparisons in evaluations to you, as in current evaluations to projected RRECS results? That might be interesting survey!

Time for another update!

Addition:
I added a calculator for the mail count.

Or you can download the bare-bones html and run locally.

Assumptions:
My questions haven't been answered, at least not directly. However, the update to the Q&A did take care of #3

1. Parcels with a delivery signature count as an accountable, not a parcel.
2. Non-signature express mail still get standard s038.
3. Less than 400 pieces of DPS counts as 'Cased DPS' standard, now 'Random.' Section 8 and 9 of the comprehensive guide contradict one another. Cased DPS
4. Parcels do *not* count towards markup mail volume.
5. 78% medium parcels, 22% small. Roundup the medium parcels, round down the small (e.g. 10 parcels would be 8 medium and 2 small).

Unknowns:
1. Details about the mini mail count (aka mail survey)
2. Still lots of ??? about intermediate office routes.

Results:
Little over 1000 calculations total. Site hasn't crashed. No bug reported.

Results:
I will update the site to better align with mailcount. For instance, 'Raw Flats' will no longer be part of the daily volume. TBD when, probably September.

Alternatives:
If you've found any other apps/tools, please share.

Thanks,
C

Kinda late but how do I convert my “Days Total Eval Time” of 476.52 minutes into an evaluation?

Is it divide by 60 minutes to get your daily hours?
From there do we multiply it by 5 or 6? I’m currently an H so unsure

Take your daily minutes then:

1) Divide by 60
2) Multiply by 6

then use the evaluated hours table to convert from standard hours to evaluated hours.

Ideally run a whole week of data though. Volumes (at least on my route) can vary wildly from day to day.
Thanks! I may possibly be going from a 44H to a 43J! I still see some major problems with RRECS but I’ll take it.

Side note do you have any idea how much mail the average DPS tray can hold? My trays are typically about 50% full if I fully compress the mail

RRECS assumes 425 letters in a DPS tray. That number seems reasonable for my route on the average.

But can vary from day to day and route to route. Some mailers are thicker, some thinner, some trays are crammed full, etc. Best to count your trays and check with your EoR DPS numbers to get a rough average.

Update: Nothing changed from previous update from above. I did find and fix a bug.

Bug Fix:
1. Boxholder flats and letters were counted in 'Verify Address Time.' --> Boxholders don't have an address, should not have been counted in verify time

Impact: Minor. Bug added a little over 1 minute per 100 boxholders.
So, for instance, if your route had 400 boxes, this would have added roughly 5 extra, erroneous minutes to eval when a boxholder was entered.

Fixed today, 2 Oct 2022.

Thanks,
C

Update (24 Mar 2023):

Changed the site to incorporate the mini mail survey.
You will need the totals off the 4241 from the MMS:

RRECS_4241_totals.jpg

I am going to wait a few days to push the update, let people have a chance to get a copy of their 4241s.

Also, I am working on a volume tracking site (like the one the NRLCA promised). Carriers will be able to chart their volumes and RRECS evaluations from day to day. Unfortunately, carriers will have to do their own dirty work, recording and entering route data daily...
This is a somewhat more involved project. Still several weeks away from releasing anything, and I can definitely use some help beta testing when the time comes...

Cheers!

Thank you so much for all you do!

Thank you so much for creating this tool for us! I have a 42K, Half my route has Amazon. I've been randomly running days through the site and getting a result higher than my current evaluation. Today, I got a result of 8.96 hours (and I didn't even add the TWO FlatsWSS I had). I still have hope my route won't become a J Route, so thank you!

You are very welcome!

I hope your route fares well,

I have been tracking my actual vs Rrecsulator figures.
Mon, Tues, Wed of this week
Actual hours 28.51
Rrecsulator 30.92

It will be interesting to see the new evaluation. I am hoping I closed the gap by a lot. Using the Rrecsulator to give me a feel for what a standard "fair" pace might be.
Not sure I am aware of what a fair pace is yet.
It's so odd and annoying that my sub is mindlessly responsible for his contribution to the evaluated hours on the route through his performance. He has no idea what his actions mean. He isn't in the union so has no access to info. I am letting him stay stupid just to see how this plays out. I will train him better when and if we get cut. He worked 1/3 of the total days this past 52 weeks. Maybe his stupidity and less volume brought the route down and we aren't considered overburdened.
We shall see.

Is anyone else having an issue with the program? I am trying to input data from the mini-mail survey, but my information won't save in "Fixed Data". It just refreshes back to all zeros.

I have cleared my cookies/cache and tried using multiple browsers.

Looks like everyone gave up on it. I emailed the creator and waiting to hear back. It’s doing the same for my info.
