Modern Day Slavery

Yeah.....hope she's safe out there TiredmaiLady....praying for ya...šŸ™
Awh,thank you'all!!! I am sitting here dreading going to work tomorrow. Didn't know a body can be this sore. I still say they are breaking some kind of labor laws. I have emailed some of my Senators and members of Congress. I have been contacted our Dept of Labor. No one should be expected to work under such barbaric conditions. If you'all have any other suggestions, please let me know. Thanks for all your advice and concern, you people are beyond wonderful!!!

Little bit different actually. You will be getting your regular work pay plus the holiday pay . No OT
I don’t know how to more clearly point this out. Hers my pay stub from last year. I worked on my actual designated holiday. Look at the 2 areas I highlighted. One is from working my Christmas holiday. The other one highlighted the top number is TIME AND A HALF for working my Christmas holiday day. OVER TIME, TIME AND A HALF,150% for working my Christmas holiday. Now, look at the hightlighted number under Christmas 150%. It shows 2 days of leave. One day is my REGULAR 100% Christmas holiday pay, the other is for the other day I took off after Christmas last year.
Our contract explicitly points out being paid 150% working your Christmas holiday day, in addition to being paid regular time for the holiday pay that’s part of our benifit package! Working Christmas holiday IS OVER TIME! Monday is Christmas holiday day this year. Monday is my sched day off, therefore moving MY CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY to Saturday. Which I’ll be working, being paid 150% on Saturday, which is OT no matter how you look at it. Now wether I can actually roll my actual ā€œholidayā€ pay into my al HOL earned section, is a story we’ve got to wait till that pay check comes. But, one way or the other, I’ll be paid double time and a half on Saturday (see last years stub) (time and a half, IN ADDITION to regular holiday pay. Or I’ll roll my holiday into my al HOL earned section and be paid holiday pay later in the year.
It’s still ot for me Saturday!

Working holiday is not overtime . It is holiday pay on top of regular pay . If it is within OT period it could be .,otherwise you were shortchanged.

Where did you get paid 2 and a half times in your paystub ? You were paid one and a half time . Your holiday pay was zero . You were shortchanged . You were supposed to get paid 5+1=6 days worth of pay . Instead the way they processed your pay you got paid 4+1.5= 5.5 days worth of pay

The way I look at Amazon is its an intentional moved from Jeff Bezos to overload and destroy the USPS so he can make a bid for national control of the US Mail system in 5-10 years.

Employees get tired and retire quit or move to Amazon or UPS. Eventually there isn't enough people that can clear a background check or that are willing to be overworked day after day. System fails - Amazon steps in.

2.5. 150% for working. 100% for actual holiday pay. 150 + 100 is 250. My holiday pay is in the lower highlighted section. I got 2 days of leave there, 1 was holiday pay, the other was a real al day I took day after Christmas…. My Christmas day worked is the top highlighted box.

the box your discussing I wasn’t paid, was an x day for me. It always shows empty pay, but it shows up in the regular eval hours box.

I worked 4 days that week, I got paid 6.5 days. 1 of the other days was an al day. 150 working holiday! 100 for holiday pay, 100 for al day, worked 4 days total. I guess I should rephrase that a bit. I worked 3 days that week. I also worked my Christmas Day at 150%, plus I got my holiday pay, along with an al day.

Ignore me . For your paycheck only your satisfaction matters

I had the least volume of mail today in my 30+ years. 3 packages, 1.5 ft. dps and 1 ft. flats. Had I pushed it, I probably could have gotten my route done in the rrecs rated time. Would have been the first time. Oh well, I have already given the PO 4 hrs. of unpaid work this week.

How do you give unpaid hours of work in OT period ?

I finally got to look at all the daca codes, and I’m seeing where our ā€œconfusionā€ is coming from. I see myself being correct, and I see y’all being correct. Funny wording in the daca V and daca G sections. Just gonna have to wait to see how it pans out for me now. I’m good with holiday pay and 150% working holiday……. I’d prefer the 150% now, with holiday pay at a later date of my choosing…… but I’m good with taking pay like I did last year……. Holiday pay in addition to 150% working….. I’m good with that….

Holiday pay in addition to normal pay . Not 150% . And that is to your benefit . In a normal week if you work your k day you get paid for 6.5 ( 5+1.5) days of pay but you work 6 days . Only .5 days extra . But If you work a Saturday extra because it turned into a holiday you get paid 6 (5+1) days worth of pay by working 5 days only . 1 day extra . Your check will be smaller by .5 day amount than if you would have worked in a normal k day . But you have worked 1 day less . 11 days for 2 weeks in one case and 10 days in other case . But difference in pay would be by .5 day amount only

Holiday pay in addition to normal pay . Not 150%
Regular carrier works designated holiday. Receives regular pay for that day plus holiday pay,
does not earn additional day off. (Designated Christmas holiday only: carrier receives pay for the day plus 11⁄2 times holiday pay, no additional day off).

Isn’t this saying pay for the day, PLUS 1 1/2 times holiday pay? I.e 150%.?.?.?

this was pulled straight from the daca code page I found…..

maybe, it’ll work out like @gotstamps (?) made in another thread, maybe due to the ā€œnewā€ holidays worked will be added in al HOL earned at 150% for working my Christmas holiday. 100% now, 150% later? We shall see soon enough.

NO NO NO . It is clearly saying 1+1 = 2 times pay . Not 1+1.5 =2.5 days of pay . I did not know any chrismas holiday exception. Where did you get this info ? I have to check
