There is another one I kind of remember. President Gerald Ford also died this week —- 26th of December. But for life of me I can’t recall the day of the mourning. It’s always one day for us I believe
Jan 3rd, 2007 was a booger. Real booger. We still had heavy flat and letter mail then. And then an extra day's worth. Along with personal property declarations from the county assessor that go out generally on the first business day of the year. Biggest non-election DPS day I ever had. Catalogs that had built up because we didn't deliver non local 3rd class during Peak. Mmmm boy. I remember what I walked into that morning.

I agree, he was a good person. But, the job of President often requires a morally flexible person. Pres Carter did do an amazing job of building up communities and opening dialogue.
Yes . His firm conviction to remain as truly great human being sometimes clashed with the necessity of being a successful president. But he chose to remain a great human being at the expense of his presidency
Please don't confuse the facts with his made up story.
