Jimmy Carter Funeral & National Day of Mourning

Just curious about how the funeral/National Day of Mourning and shutting down the government will play out with the New Year’s holiday this week? I read the funeral is usually within 5 days which would make it Thursday or Friday. And then to give the Post Office the day off and how it will affect us with mail delivery. RIP Jimmy Carter and prayers for his family.

My best guess based on George H W Bush would be Friday. To me that would make the most sense since RCA are running on Saturday, they can RCA run packages on Friday to lighten their Saturday.

But who knows.

RIP to greatest humanitarian president we had.

HE WAS A GREAT MAN even though he gave me a draft number. I would have followed him through any battle.
the last two not so much

i remember when ford died. had a holiday, and a day after holiday off. Not good. of course I was an rca then, and of course the reg called off that day.

Looks like Jan 2 was Ford according to google
Jan 3rd, 2007 was a booger. Real booger. We still had heavy flat and letter mail then. And then an extra day's worth. Along with personal property declarations from the county assessor that go out generally on the first business day of the year. Biggest non-election DPS day I ever had. Catalogs that had built up because we didn't deliver non local 3rd class during Peak. Mmmm boy. I remember what I walked into that morning.

Drop amazon delivery for three days and put all hands on deck surtail mail and get it done , but that would mean leadership and decission making

I say , although his presidency didn’t turn out to be a great presidency but he definitely was the best human being ever elected to be an American president bar none
I agree, he was a good person. But, the job of President often requires a morally flexible person. Pres Carter did do an amazing job of building up communities and opening dialogue.

Yes . His firm conviction to remain as truly great human being sometimes clashed with the necessity of being a successful president. But he chose to remain a great human being at the expense of his presidency
