Limiting Vehicle Load Times

At 23 minutes, switch over to wait time on a 1234 or 8127. Presume someone else will be loading the rest of the mail then, once finished, management will instruct you to be on your merry way.

Carriers cannot curtail mail without specific instruction. Simultaneously, they must carry all mail intended for delivery.

This is the exact reason why I would never be allowed to be a pm/supervisor. I could come up with all kinds of lies, just to see which carriers would believe me and limit or increase times in areas that I said needed to be done, “OR ELSE”.
Here’s an example of what my first safety meeting would be like:
1) Restroom breaks will now have to be shorted or after 5 minutes the lights will go off.
2) If you are still on the toilet after 7 minutes the toilet paper will retract into the wall.
3) If you remain on the toilet after 10 minutes your picture will be taken.
4) After 12 minutes of being on the toilet your picture will be placed on the bulletin board.
I don’t want to do this, I’m on your side, but the (POOM,district manager, vice president to the PMG, or anybody else you might respect)
is making me do this, I’m very sorry.
I don’t want to, and if you are out of there in 5 minutes we won’t have any of these problems.
Next week we will be talking about the new rule of 5 rubber bands per carrier per week, again it not MY idea. Have a nice day and let’s be safe out there.
Please STOP believing your managers, they are NOT your friends, they are NOT trying to help you, they are NOT on your side.
Whenever they say something to you that is limiting you in time or freedom, ask for the email with their boss’s name and title on it, and or any documentation that spells out what the “New requirement” is.
Of course it will NOT EXIST.
And people be happy I’m not your manager, I’m not nice to gullible people.
Yeah I would just tell you what I tell our post master when he trys that stuff "Tell your boss and your boss's boss I said in the grove and if you all do not understand that I will leave some used TP on your desk to send to them"

Our OIC was in a conference call today and district stressed they're going to start pushing to limit load times to 22 minutes. I told her that loading my van takes what it takes and I can't imagine them being able to enforce that. It's asinine to think you can load up your van or LLV in 22 minutes with an overburdened route on an Amazon heavy office. I know there are carriers out there that really try to take advantage of Load Vehicle times, in my office one carrier clicks Load Vehicle while she's still pulling down then has breakfast but I figure that's none of my business and it's for management to manage.

Anyone else heard anything on this?
There is nobody in management at our office with a valid drivers license so would it be legal for them to put mail in a uber car and do you think it would take under 22 minutes.
This is why this evaluated system should end and we get paid hourly like every other craft. End of shift and load time are on the clock every day. If we did not have the evaluated system management would have not much to do. Routes would get cut and life would be much less stressful. End of shift duties and Load time take the time they take. Management can not set bench marks or project what time it takes to do things. Do people here know that management enters safety talk time in every week. I looked at my 4241m and they are paying me 30 seconds a week for safety talks. When the actual time is 10 minutes a week. This job really sucks when we constantly have to look over our shoulder to see if we are getting screwed or not. I personally would like to just worry about getting the mail delivered after all that is what we were hired for. This system will never end because the postal service would have to pay out significantly more money to pay us fairly for the amount of work we do for nothing.

Do they limit it in the scanner too? I've had multiple instances where I knew for a fact I had hit load vehicle, had to wait for people on dock, postmaster starts blabbing, blizzard hits etc and I must have been loading nearly 30 min and when I went to hit end load on scanner it had ended by itself at some point. I was wondering if they altered the software again to help them falsify data without announcing it to carriers... Anyone else observe this?
Several carriers in my area have noticed this as well...

My scanner sits on the desk while I load. No, I have not had it "end load" by itself.

Exit rrecs menu after you hit start load. This way is scanner goes haywire end load doesn’t get trigger. Better yet enter load truck screen after you start load. Never had an issue, but I carry it with me everywhere. I don’t trust anyone 🤷‍♂️.

Well, you can actually look at all of your entries when the supervisor pulls you up. You can see the times for start load, end load, out to lunch, return to lunch, etc. The problem is, what does DISTRICT do with these times ?

My district is sending people to watch for unattended vehicles. I live in a northern state. Sometimes it takes 15 minutes to defrost the windows so you can drive. And cant leave the vehicle running and unattended. So, is defrosting a vehicle part of load time..or is it "built in", I go with load time..but you cant defrost and load in 20 minutes, if you have to do one at a time..

Same here . Never had an issue . I guess I should thank PO for giving me a better scanner

Remember that the assistance in loading your vehicle cannot occur until the leave replacement who assists first completes their daily assignment. (Article 30.2.Q)

Management may just have made the closer's day a bit longer.

In the old days when we had a count, when management would time us with a stop watch during loading, if it were snowing and we had to brush off our windows, the timer kept on running, so......I'd do it under loading.
