I’ve had mondays off for years. They recently gave another carrier monday (since all the J routes was created) they took his saturday.

now they don’t have enough subs again.

what happens? Since he is over me will I be required to work my K day monday every week? They hire people but our office is so depressing they leave for another office.

I don't know if you are a formula office or not. Having said that, if you are NOT a formula office all relief days are Saturday UNLESS the regular carrier and the PM are in agreement to another day. There is also this which covers who to call and when ; https://www.ruralinfo.net/shared-fi...fe59-03082023-Order-of-Consideration-O-6-.pdf
we are formula but in reading it as since they gave him monday and now we are short it makes me work my K day… they don’t call other offices

If they dont call other offices, you should grieve that. You should be able to have your k-day per the contract. I would contact the union. Find out EXACTLY where you stand in this situation, then, then make your life better by developing a BACKBONE, and take it to po mgmt, and teach them a lesson.😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
It just royally PISSES me off when po mgmt treats us like this. This whole trainwreck/usps would be just a history lesson in a book somewhere if not for the RURAL CARRIERS around the country. WE are the only reason this thing is still limping along.....fight, Fight, FIGHT. You can win...I have many times. I just went head to head with po mgmt last couple of weeks, over a contract dispute, and WWWWOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNN. It has changed the whole atmosphere in our office....🤨🤨🤨🤠

Unfortunately there is no requirement to find coverage from other offices. Mgmt MAY use other subs from other offices, not “will”.

There are things you can do....extremely long hours in the dark IS a safety issue. I've known 5, yes 5 carriers that died because of po mgmt forcing them to work in the dark in dangerous weather....so you can fight it. Gotstamps is technically right as usual, BUT they bend the contract, and completely BREAK IT. We can flex it some too....fmla is also an option if it is causing you mental stress (undue) because of the situation. Dont just take it.....do something about it.🤠🤠🤠
