Serious talk about EMA

I find EMA ridiculous anymore.

I can drive office to another office for .725 cents a mile. Gone up over 10 cents since I was RCA 4 years ago. It was 56 cents mile in 2021. Now it is 725 cents a mile. That's 16+ cent increase in 6 years.

YET EMA for POV is .97 cents a mile. Never gotten above a dollar a mile. In 2020 EMA was 70 cents a mile. Now it is 97 cents.

How is that even close to being fair??????

The OP was referencing two different items. One is IRS transportation rate. The other is EMA. They are different rates because they have different uses for the vehicle.
I do agree, EMA needs to be around $1.20 to actually cover cost and repairs these days.
sorry but even 1.20 wouldnt cut it with repair costs

Look at this way.

29.5% increase in just regular EMA for driving office to office.

38.6% increase in EMA for routes

If regular mileage has went up that much, EMA should be at least double percent increase of mileage office to office.

Think about it.

Almost 30% increase in EASY MILES ON VEHICLES. Yet only 39% for beating the crap out of car when insurance, gas, parts, & labor rates have went up. Labor rates have SKY ROCKET in last few years

Just quick and simple google search comparing prices and labor rates from 2020 to now

Labor rates

2020 80 an hour to 130 hour
2026 120 an hour to 200 an hour

Insurance rate (FULL COVERAGE)

2020 $1500 an year
2026 $2300 to $2700 an year

Car parts cost roughly 26% more in 2026 than they did in 2025

So example if you spend $1000 bucks on parts in 2020, it cost now $1257 in 2026

Tires

2020 $167 bucks
2026 $200 to $215 bucks

Please someone explain to me why the union will not do anything to help us POV.
