been a long 3 weeks. 6 day weeks, 90 degree temps, most days in an llv. Went to work today against my better judgement. Was making a left turn into a driveway. Never saw the car behind me that was attempting to pass me. Good news is that it only caught the front bumper of the llv. bent the bumper a bit, but no one was hurt. Llv is even still drivable. Police didnt write a ticket for either party. The skid marks in the pavement were probably 15-20 feet long. Claimed there were no turn signals. With all the dust on the llv, im sure they didnt see them, or they werent paying attention. So now to deal with the aftermath...

I'm sure you had fun filling out the paperwork and drawing diagrams to explain what happened and where. Chances are they will clear you to work ASAP, especially since Police treated it as a no-fault accident. Glad you aren't seriously injured.

After 9 years here I had my first experience with the same: Rear-ended by speeding driver trying to pass during lefthand turn and claimed no signals which was disproven. 2 totaled vehicles and lady wasn't ticketed. Continued working 7 days a week while banged up because we had nobody else.

The aftermath for me was all the office gossips trying to talk trash even after both the police and USPS HQ investigated and cleared me. That and being haunted by the danger every damn time I drive that road or look in my mirrors and wonder if a driver is paying attention. I keep wondering if it is time to ditch USPS before my luck runs out.

Hopefully it's not too bad for you and you can return to a sense of normalcy soon!

Somebody correct me if I’m wrong, because I know one time I checked and my rear turn signals were useless on the LLV with the flashers on. The front would indicate but not the rear. There might have been a malfunction and maybe they are supposed to always be independent of the flashers but mine weren’t.
Nevermind I see that they’re designed to be that way but my raggedy a**ed one didn’t.
