I'll believe THAT when I see it. They drop off more every day.Fed ex is really not going to be dropping crap for us to deliver ??
Starting January 1 2020 they are doing own parcels including all last mile delivery. Fed ex announced this last May.Fed ex is really not going to be dropping crap for us to deliver ??
FEDEX is in the process of integrating SmartPost into its FEDEX Ground network. Their Sunday delivery starts in Jan, and the company has stated that full integration is expected by end of 2020. IMO, "full" integration into truly rural areas will take longer where they have legs, but not in the numbers they'll need.I'll believe THAT when I see it. They drop off more every day.
They're too busy buying the mngt geekazoids spiffy new cell phones that track the spiffy new scanners to better track and harass the carriers, and paying the geekazoids to go out and drive around and play on their spiffy new phones to worry about losing $$$ BILLIONS and BILLIONS of dollars.... priorities, don't ya know....?
Well they have to justify and try to figure out why they are loosing .65 cents a package. I am certain it wouldn't have to do with the 3 truck trips carrying a few packages at a time while paying a contract truck driver would possibly cause any of this.
I hope that deal works out for them. I can't imagine any profitable company failing to realize that getting USPS to do their work for peanuts is better than paying to do it yourself.Fed ex is really not going to be dropping crap for us to deliver ??
actually, the po was in the black until congress mandated we pay $5B a years into a fund for future employees, health retirement. it's been downhill (and in the red). almost ever since.
i don't believe that this is a pr story, but rather a cash cow for congress to get some money they can blow on whatever they wish. current employees could never repay this debt. the po income source is from the sale of stamps. the po is set up to be a non-profit, as a service to the people. if it ever did have a large surplus of funds, the price of stamps would be cut.Personally, I think this is just a story the PO public relations people made to con postal service employees. The next step always comes to us giving something up.
The big lie is that they are trying to convince us the the money to pay is in a bank some place and this is a lie. The system depends on current employees paying that debt. If you reduce the number employees as the Postal Service wants to do, no one is left to pay the debt.
Yes, the Postal Service should pay because if they don't then we must loose the benefits.
Get rid of all current management and USPS could rent UPS or FEDEX management and get us out of this mess!! A management that really understands delivery from the first mile all the way to the last mile without crushing and demoralizing it's employees!
Blue light specialInteresting idea,
Does any one know of a successful regional delivery company? Is there such a company?
Maybe we should go management shopping.
I was talking to a FedEx worker the other day... they talked about calling their manager and discussing a delivery problem, like that was something they could easily do without fear of hassle or retribution... and I thought, wouldn't that be nice.... ?Get rid of all current management and USPS could rent UPS or FEDEX management and get us out of this mess!! Yeah our USPS management knows very little about the delivery process, especially during the Christmas, crazy, everyman and woman for their self time!I was talking to a FedEx worker the other day... they talked about calling their manager and discussing a delivery problem, like that was something they could easily do without fear of hassle or retribution... and I thought, wouldn't that be nice.... ?
Find RC with at least 15 year of CURRENT EXPERIENCE, let them manage for 3 years then back to their routes they go , rinse and repeat....Interesting idea,
