Postmaster General David Steiner says USPS “is not a political organization,” as it carefully navigates its way through yet another round of election mail lawsuits and urges Congress for help to avoid running out of cash.

FOR the sake of the Post Office.... He should be calling for 100% mail in ballots.
174 million voters (or so) times .82 and every 4 years. WOW the post office could afford to give us 1.5 next contract
Disagree or agree but this would bring in needed revenue

Hey I have several crazy ideas!!!!!!

#1 We already did but bring drug test and testing back to get better people.
#2 After hiring better people, start getting rid of supervisors
#3 Start looking into closing smaller offices that are near other offices

(Example: We have 4 RMPOs in my office on top of main one). 3 of them are within about 2 miles of each other in BASICALLY A STRAIGHT LINE DRIVE). Those 3 are within about 4-5 miles of main office. Other one is bigger with around 300 po boxes so it could stay open and is about 6 miles from main office. Main office is where you go to get everything from gas to grocery and etc.

Close those 3 and guess what? Save roughly 400k. Close all 4 and could be closer to 500K to 550k a year.

Right there alone it would probably make our office at least close to breaking even if not maybe slightly profitable.

The GAO did a study on this very scenario using the 2008 election as the example. Report in PDF.
