My regular carrier has exhausted all her annual leave. Recently she needed to take two days off during the week of the holiday. She had also had taken the Friday of the week before LWOP. She went to the postmaster and got him to approve her working her relief day. They also had mandated the junior carrier in the office who refused to take off and they had borrowed someone from another office as well when they told my carrier she could work. We had eight carriers and only seven routes to run. They asked me to take the Saturday off and I refused because it is my guaranteed work day. In the in our Aux route carrier was asked to take AL so my regular carrier could work. I had to work a route that was less pay than mine. I talked to my union steward and filed a grievance, but she told my supervisor that I actually do not have one.
