Amazon has long been the Postal Service’s top customer, providing more than $6 billion in annual revenue to the agency in 2025. Amazon is preparing to expand its nationwide delivery network and give up its long-standing partnership with the U.S. Postal Service, according to three people with knowledge of the matter, a move that could […]

As UPS found out in less than a year, this self-own will not be as useful outside their centers. Their use of FLEX however will mitigate the loss until they run out of stooges working for $10 after maintenance and other costs. Likely in the meantime, they will now pay market rates to use us instead of preferential for whatever has no other option than us.

LOL .. USPS will likely have all it's new parcel delivery vehicles fielded as soon as Bezos drops them... It's like a flashback to the FSS debacle.. just as they got all those behemoth big sorting machines fielded, magazine mailings dried up... USPS is always a day late and a few BILLION DOLLARS short.. 🤔 🤷‍♂️👉(n):ROFLMAO:

The good thing about it all is they will have a NGDV available for ALL routes since carriers will only deliver mail and a few parcels. I remember the good old days before FingerHut and the 1991 Contract where we honked at the mailbox and if no one came up, then we left a notice on everything to large for the box. I was on a high volume route where first 100 customers got 10 to 15 flats a day. Would have 10 to 15 strapped out bundles for them and then less than 3 bundles for the other 500 customers. Maybe 10 parcels, most were photos and columbia house cassettes. Delivered out of my daily driver, a Yugo, one day when my route car was down....... Sat in driver seat and slid over to put mail in box. Sometimes, I would put it in neutral, pull the e brake............ put mail in box and use left foot for clutch, brake, and gas.

I delivered out of a early 1990's Nissan pickup truck a few times... 5-speed manual tranny, and I did that e-brake deal... It had a sliding back glass and I could just reach back and get bundles from the truck bed... Wasn't a lot of parcels back in the day, as you mentioned... seems crazy looking back, but I guess we did what we had to do.... 🤷‍♂️👉(y)

As far as I'm concerned Amazon can stick all their packages where the sun dont shine....and good riddance to the
bass-turds....dont let the door hit ya where the Lord split ya....🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤠 And.....dont come back...😁😁😁
100% in agreement, that is the best answer! They give USPS 6 billion in revenue and 7 billion in expenses. The truth is Amazon using USPS shields them from a lot of expenses and liabilities for pennies per parcels. What sense would it make for them to give it up?

We should never allow contracts with these shippers and merchants that allow ultra cheap rates not available to the public. We have a universal service obligation to all people in the country so we shouldn't be subsidizing the ultra rich companies.

For the offices that have Amazon (like myself) this may last -(if it does at all play out)-a few months= BUT just like UPS they will be back.

It'll be interesting to see how far Amazon can push on the federal government and see what they can get away with.

Part. My office has the Branded/Molded Amazon's, the Runner Amazon's, the Uhaul Amazon's, FLEX Amazon's, and we still get plenty of Amazon's. I started seeing UPS finally bring out their personal cars with magnet tags to supplement their trucks and trailers. I-am-not-worried.

calimailman is right they will give us .25 cents instead of .50 cents, and shannonboy is correct also its a scam put forth by the usps, they are dirty scumbags, stick them up yours usps and amazon

Mr Bezos will use illegals and green card workers. It's a different guy every day that drops off Amazon at my office in his Al-Shabab LLC box truck, not able to speak one word of English and definitely not American. Where's the ICE raids on Amazon facilities?

As far as the article, yeah we  should mechanize our sorting plants. The APWU is the single biggest money drain in the company.

Perhaps they are really out to cut our benefits again. Poor mouth to Congress because they are too poor.

With the Postal Service accounting, I don't know if we gain 6 billion after expenses or if the 6 billion includes expenses. Is it possible we could have a 3 billion a year customer and earn more money?
