Another Amazon Sunday problem

On Sundays us rca’s have to come in at 7 to throw amazon packages. None of us want to but only 1 clerk comes in to do it. And since the clerks don’t want to work Sunday they won’t file a grievance.

today’s issue is that in addition to amazon packages a truck from the r plant showed up with non-Amazon packages. Management told us that we are working until 6 no matter what. If we get done with all our amazon then we have to take out the non-amazon packages, which they conveniently scanned for Monday delivery.

our union person said we have no grievance as rca’s as we are not being harmed since we are being paid

I just think it’s crappy to continue dumping stuff on us. Where does it end? What if they decide to work us til 7, 8? What if they tell us to start delivering some mail on Sundays?

it just seems it went from about 5 hours on Sunday to now at least a 11 hour day and there is nothing we can do because we are being paid

In my area we have to rotate through the Hub year round except for the Christmas period. The same thing can be said about our Hub. It used to be fun. At best you might do 6 hours if you felt like grabbing one of furthest out routes. Close, dense routes, might be 4.5.

NOW...

You walk in and get told that there are 13 routes and 7 carriers. It gets better, only 6 show up. I've been stuck doing 2 full Amazon software generated routes the last few times I've been scheduled. Absolute insanity and stupidity from higher management.

I have been doing 2 full routes almost every Sunday since covid xmas began. Sometimes more. Regulars who came up before Amazon and had Sundays off, most in my office agree - they probably wouldn't have done it had it been like that back then.

Grievable?

Are you doing this at a Hub?

If I were you I'd stop showing up too! File EEO complaints. Grievances, civil law suits, treating employees worse than prisoners or those found in China sweat shops, might, might get an eyeball to blink?
