Another happy Amazon sunday story

As most of you who do Amazon sunday know, we get paper directions and we get to hear the scanner give us verbal directions. Neither is correct 100 percent of the time. Even combined they can be a challenge at times to get to the right place. I have been using my old Garmin GPS which is correct about 99 percent of the time.

By now, most of us know where our deliveries are so we really don't need the directions that much.

Well, this past sunday we were told that district said we are to follow the scanner directions to the letter. Apparently it was mentioned to district that the directions are frequently wrong and that the carriers know where most places are and can deliver correctly despite the scanner. District said they did not care, just follow the scanner and if the scanner is wrong do not deliver the package.

This is stupider than stupid.

I was thinking about writing my US Rep and Senator but at the end of the day I realized that I actually do less work by just listening to the scanner and scanning a bad location as No Access and moving on to the next package.

If I had a subordinate that gave that order I would fire him on the spot and have him physically thrown out of the building.

Rather than show the PO that their asinine programs don’t work, they keep their head in the sand, and refuse to acknowledge its broken by demanding we use a broken system. Apply this shit show scenario to the operating room.....Wait wait Dr. Dumbass wait- says the OR tech. That new hip you’re about to put in has a crack in it, we should close up, and reschedule until we have one that will work and not make things worse. Dr Dumbass says give me the damn hip you lowly OR tech, and follow my instructions understood.

Just guessing, but maybe this is a way to show Amazon that they may not really have all the answers, and that USPS is constantly bailing them out.

Maybe behind the scenes are a bunch of Amazon stuffed shirts claiming they could get homeless monkeys to do the job just as well and for 15% less.

or how is this..
Amazon delivered two pallets of parcels to our office, when the clerk went to sort them, they did not belong to our office...not even in our city. to a city 90 miles away.
Amazon refused to take blame, even though their truck delivered the pallets straight from their warehouse.
Said it was USPS fault and USPS responsibility to fix AND have delivered that day!!
So guess what....someone put those packages in a vehicle, and drove them 90 miles to the other city and had those carriers waiting around all day to deliver them after they were sorted there.
Sorry, a little off track, but another true story of how USPS lets Amazon order them around to fix their mistakes!

USPS needs to open their eyes and notice that Amazon will soon be delivering most of their packages and that we should quit kissing their arse.

who's dumber? the one ordering that or the one doing that? one would/could believe it is the same moron... mmmmm

The USPS is amazons bitch. Do that crap once, they will always be doing it. If I was poom I would have called amazon traffic dispatch manager and said your manifest number such and such was dropped by mistake and WILL be here till you pick it up. We had sacks of UPS. Same scenario. Same end result. “Come get your shit”

Exactly. Amazon did this to our office. They came and picked it up.

The proper thing to do was scan them as Mis Shipped and leave them for Amazon to pick up. The only reason we are getting anything from them now is that is the stuff they don’t want to deliver.

This happens occasionally at my office, the rural carrier serving as 204b is the only one who scans as misshipped. And then calls amazon to come get their crap. The PM, panics and makes a truck drive it to it's destination. The actual mgr spends USPS funds on the silliest, unreimbursable things.
The writing is on the wall, stop pandering to a company that broke us. They are moving on to the next pony, whip in hand.

I doubt they would purchase any union contract company. They go out of their way not to buy or do business with union companies. They hate the "high labor cost" of said companies. Cheaper and easier to build your own with all the commercial space available in the market. And everyone jumping in to give free tax and labor incentives to them. I have a close family member who works for them. They suck your soul is what I heard...from a higher executive.

The USPS will always be delivering Amazon as long as they can find a craft, like ours that will deliver for 30 seconds of pay/parcel. No one else will be able to do that.

RECS is going to FIX all of that.
OH and POV Drivers will get paid for all the miles they drive once RECS is implemented, you know all those 1/2 mile drive ways we go down to deliver packages,
At least that is what I read here.
I haven't heard that Mantra lately.
Oh well you can't argue with logic, if it was on the internet it must be true.

I
It will, if implemented, in the near but distant future.

Is that really still a thing? Not being smart but when the unofficial results from the Engineers leaked out I don't remember anything about paying us for all miles. I'm not even sure we can assume that we will be paid the mileage to the door even though we may "MAP" the location we drive to, or park at for "To The door/Front Porch Parcels" because they said they will base the minutes per mile on the distance "BETWEEN MAILBOXES" so it seems kind of contradictory, or maybe no one knows how we are going to be paid even after a 4 year wait and the engineers cashing their check.

I doubt they are moving on, just getting leverage to muscle the carriers somewhat. The problems we have hiring aren't special just to us. They will struggle to find consistent, capable bodies with enough character and gumption to do a decent job. What they will be able to do with their own fleet is periodically take all the cream, leaving 20 UPS drivers with nothing to do; or 30 FedEx guys all working the same block for 10 minutes in the morning, then with nothing to do. If they wanted to be an end to end retail solution, they would have just bough FedEx and rebranded it.
if trump liked amazon,, maybe they would be measuring us for shirts..

This is probably the closest thing to the truth. :(

I would have to go back and look at those results, but was under the assumption that, yes, we would be paid the extra plus the walking to and fro. Else why bother with mapping the different locations at all?
