If there is parcel help being given, who gets the hours? The 6 day aux carrier or the on record rca for that route? Is there an order of consideration to go by?

roadrunnee -- "If there is parcel help being given, who gets the hours? The 6 day aux carrier or the on record rca for that route."

-- Off hand, I'd say the AUX carrier as he/she is already in the office and depending on the size of the route, he/she would be getting back to the office about the time the clerks have finally finished throwing parcels from late arriving trucks.

-- If really swamped with parcels, manglement could call in the sub of record to assist.

"Is there an order of consideration to go by?"

-- Aside from PTF's seemingly getting first dibs when others are not available, probably not.

-- Manglement can rely on Article 3 ( Management Rights ) of the contract to get the job done as they see fit.

As at Christmas time any route needing aux help under 2 hours, those hours can go to any Rca already working. Any aux help needed that is more than 2 hours should be given to the primary Rca first.

I remember reading somewhere that Aux routers are not able to help if they're holding a route down. They do their 4-5 hours, go home, and that management can't force them to work any other route than their hold down. I think it's in the contract, but I'm not sure.

That was 2 contracts ago. Mgmt may utilize an Auxiliary RCA as needed AFTER completion of Their Auxiliary (or Primary In non-Formula offices).

I use to be the aux and I don't remember the evaluation. The lady on it now has told the supervisor she only wants to work 40 hours. Again, I don't remember the eval. They ran me all over when I did it and heck with the 40 hours.

Not lady’s choice in the matter. Contract states that mgmt can utilize the Aux RCA as needed after their route. There is no “opting out”.
