Bidding gone district wide ?

Heard someone made a mistake when bidding and office 30 miles away IS posted district wide . How does this happen ? What are the ramifications? Does the winning bidder have to have most time in as Reg ? Then most time in as RCA ? How is the successful bidder decided ? Will the winner encounter a hostile environment? Does that matter ? What say yee all?

Could you please tell us where the office is located in the event it is not posted in our office? Is it for a RCA or regular position?
Thanks!

Does this post come down 4/11 ?
Yes, it is SAD that the bidding system now is confusing to some. But the directions are crystal clear on proper way to bid. If you want to go full time and you are senior RCA in the office you MUST bid for all routes in said office. Although, one would think if the senior RCA bid on route opening they would get whatever route came up vacant! :censored:
Regular carrier that bids with the most years of service will win the route.

A Regular wishing to transfer into that office with the most time would win that position. If only RCA's bid on route the one with the most time as an RCA would win the bid. Chances are that in office RCA's that bid incorrectly could cause winner to be treated with hostility. But the bottom line is they screwed up so they will have to get over it!

The very minute you head of this, if it's your office, an urgent phone call to your union DR to ensure that proper bidding processes were followed. Management has screwed up bids and often has no clue as to how the system works.

I have seen carriers , both RCA and Reg, screw up the bidding process. Please do a little research and verify with a trusted experienced carrier in your office. In short, you need to bid on every route as an RCA if you want to make Reg...and Regs need to bid only on routes they would move to in order of preference. If you screw it up because you didn’t understand, you WILL lose out to a carrier that DID understand.

No need to go district wide, the Rca that knew how to bid below would just get the bid, unless they didn't know how to bid either. If all Rca' s in the office bid incorrectly, then it goes to the district, to find one smart enough to do it right. All Rca' s should bid ALL anytime possible. There maybe a less knowledgeable Rca above you that didn't.

This happens all too easily & it’s why we say to ALL RCAs to bid if you have a year on the books.
It happened in my office a few years back. Top RCA is bidding & everyone knows they are bidding. The mistake this ”Top Dog” made is that they missed a page when they bid & didn’t ”bid all”. He made sure to cover the route that was posted. A Regular Carrier took the route posted & the Top RCA missed that Regular’s Route. NO OTHER SUBS BID!
The RCA got lucky in the District Bidding & still went Regular but it was delayed about a month.
