Box Coverage

What is the best way to get box coverage up? Especially the CBU box coverage? Im pretty sure it comes from the DPS and there isnt much we can do about that.

From my experience it has been just making sure you put circulars in your scanner on the lower volume days. I have 91/86% coverages this mail survey. That is up from the last mail survey in which i was 88/80% coverages, before that 86/77% coverages.

Ethical? Eh-- not really. Am i tired of donating my salary back to the post office? Yes.

NOTHING!!!!! Just putting in WSS whenever you have is all you can AND WHO KNOWS IF YOU EVEN GET 100% for that.

I'm so !#@#%ING SICK OF RRECS AND COVERAGE FACTOR

the problem is the post master is looking at our crap and wondering why we are putting stuff in all the time

One route in our office was doing that. They were the only route to have 100% showing up every day. Only reason people noticed was because of it. 100s for them every day. They became a supervisor after being a 204b. I have been sitting at a cool 76% since the start. Figure i got room to grow if things go south.

Most managers are not watching the box holder entries that close, so entering extra box holders does work. If your's is watching them "Forget" to enter them on a busy day like Monday or Friday and enter them on the lightest days, Tuesday or Wednesday. When and if questioned about it, they can clearly see you did "Forget" to enter them on the busy day. You can also always enter WSS instead of boxholder which gives a little more credit, and always "Every customer" not just residential.

Other than the shades of gray suggestions that have been offered in the thread, what you can do is make sure you spread out your WSS/Box holder entries through the week. Since you're likely to have heavy DPS and near 100% route coverage on Mondays, never enter WSS/Boxholder on Mondays. Save them to enter the rest of the week and spread them out so that you enter at least one a day (if you can). Lots of offices with low mail volumes only get one or two circular/boxholder type things a week, so this isn't an answer for them. But for those of us who get three. four, five a week, this will help pump up route coverage.

I can't endorse any of the "hinky" suggestions made on this thread, but my motto with RRECS is always, get away with what you can get away with. I heard lots of carriers complain about coworkers making false entries. There's an office in my district where the smallest route "grew" to become the largest route under RRECS and that carrier has been able to maintain their 43K while the other routes having been losing hours every MMS.

Get away with what you can get away with. Mail volume is declining and there is not a lot we can do about it. Unfortunately, under the evaluated system we're paid based on mail volume, so when it goes down, our pay suffers.

From my experience it has been just making sure you put circulars in your scanner and a couple extra here and there because you "forgot". I have 91/86% coverages this mail survey. That is up from the last mail survey in which i was 88/80% coverages, before that 86/77% coverages. I haven't done much of anything different besides fat finger a few buttons a couple times a week.

Good for you . Hope it doesn’t become anything more than “not ethical “

Hold up lol. Are you guys saying you are entering in WSS when they are full coverage in your dps?

I thought WSS for when you have a box holder to the side etc?

Edit:
My grok says this
Key Rule for WSS in DPS Letters

• Do not enter a WSS scan on your scanner if the WSS letters are already coming through your DPS (Delivery Point Sequence) mail.

• DPS letters (including any WSS mixed into them) get credited automatically via automated systems like WebEOR for the daily/weekly letter counts and related office time standards (casing DPS letters, etc.).

• Performing a manual WSS letter scan in this case provides no additional credit and can lead to double-counting issues or confusion in the system. Multiple rural carrier forums and NRLCA guidance note that WSS pulled from or run in DPS does not qualify for the separate RRECS activity scan credit.
