Nice idea but how many more billions of dollars can we throw at these programs and still have nothing to show for it? Last I heard just over 100 NGDVs have rolled into postal facilities. We could have had 10s of thousands more Metris Vans years ago for far less money. Not everybody loves them but at least it would be something better than constant fires and break downs and always having to try borrowing vehicles from neighboring offices already short on vehicles and help.

Article makes it sound as though they wanted to get more vehicles for everyone with specific intent for rural delivery.

Text of the bill says they want a report on how USPS distributes vehicles and asks them to get modern vehicles as they can.... so worthless political busywork again.

They need to roll out some AWD vehicles to northern Rural Routes. I would love to have a GOV but I wouldn’t want one unless I could get AWD. My route would be undrivabke most of the winter in a gov

Rural carriers subsidizing the PO when using pov’s. Such BS.

Yep when gas takes 40% to 50% (possibly more) of EMA there's not much left over especially if you have brand new RHD, you have huge payment, insurance ain't cheap, car parts expensive, labor minimum 100 an hour probably closer 150 an hour.
