Dirt Miles

I have a POV route that's going to be inspected. One of the regulars told me to make sure they write down my dirt miles. The postmaster said that miles are miles don't have to differentiate. Who is right? And where can I find info? Thanks

I was told by someone competent, that the PO keeps track of the kind of roads we deliver on.  It makes no difference on your EMA, though maybe it should due to more wear & tear on your vehicle.  

Yeah I know that is asking to much from a sleezy organization like the PO.

On the PS Form 4248, page 2 Part V If POV;

Asks For year of vehicle, number of cylinders, odometer reading, fuel used, number of wheels drive, warning signs, warning lights, vehicle size, vehicle style, right / left hand drive, vehicle reflect positive Postal image, size sufficient for volume, side view mirrors on vehicle.

On Part II Route Data;

Route type (L or non L) (A, H,J,K, M) Seasonal, Official Length, Paved Miles, All Weather Miles, Dirt Miles, etc, etc.

You know in all these years, no one has ever asked me the year or number of cylinders.

Wonder what the various bozos have been falsifying.

So with the mystery of count...do you get an upward boost for every dirt mile you travel?

If so, I'd be a rich woman.

I think the info is needed because theoretically, if one is driving safely, it takes longer to traverse a dirt road than a paved one.
