Do I get paid time for retracing my route, or just miles?

Rca here . An apc on my route was delivered to another city, rescued scanned in and sorted at 10am, while I was already half finished with my route.

Postmaster instructed me to deliver every parcel for my route that arrived late so i had to return to the post office, sort the parcels, and retrace half my route delivering the late parcels, before i finish the rest of my route

I'm not sure if this just counts for mileage as a route detour, or if I should be getting paid the extra hour and a half time this took me, on top of my evaluated time

Every bit of the extra time it took, from the moment you deviated from point A, until you got back to point A and continued your route, is GREEN CARD time for an RCA. Even if you beat the evaluation on the route that day, you will be paid. If you are driving your own vehicle, you would be paid mileage also.

Adie -- How did the PM contact you if you were have way done with your route?

-- Cell phone calls should be for family emergencies only.

-- If the scanner is buzzing with a text message, log the time you pulled over to answer it.

-- No one left in the office to run those late-arriving parcels?

-- What about a clerk or, gasp - the PM?

-- Don't forget to include the time for loading -- especially if using the "loading function" on the scanner.
